Good ol' captain Vanilla himself. Got almost all the way to 300 games by being bog average yet hard working. Good on him. Definitely not the worst player to make 300.

He would walk straight into your clubs starting pack.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mannering at Wollongong in 2011. He would always talk to fans and spent more time than the other players talking to fans and signing jerseys and getting photos etc. He has been a great clubman for the Warriors and also a great for NZ. He will be missed when he's gone.

Warriors fans will be better judges, but Mannering is up there with Stacey Jones and Manu Vatuvai as great warriors players.

Mannering carried the warriors defence for years unselfishly compromising his attacking skills.
