Its a pace bowler. You run down and bang it in. Simple stuff and we need a genuine quick.

Also Starc would never have played a test if Cummins and Pattinson stayed fit

We'll miss his batting more than his bowling. Cummins the best like for like replacement as he is probably a better batsman but they wont consider that as a criteria for selection.

Cummins has played one Shield game and needs to continue his road back to fitness and if he goes to India he probabaly wont play so no point in sending him to be a net bowler.

Cummins was also a better option than Stonis, Pattinson and Cummins are the best two options which is why someone like Copeland will get a gig.
