Stealers take more from St George

As if using the $8 million from the NRL to pay off debts and borrowing $8 million from StGeorge so they can have a Junior League and an NRL team wasn't enough they have gone and taken 4 competition points away from us as well.

Down 16-0 early and 22-6 momentum shifted and Saints surged home to draw level at 22 all with 3 minutes to go after a magic movement that was finished off by young Kevin Naiquama. The kick from the sideline just missed and i don't know if it was good or bad but off the re-start we tried a short kick that gave Illawarra good field possession. It was good to see they tried to win it, but in the same token it was dumb football and they should have been more cautious. With 10 seconds to go despite what appeared to be a knock on Illawarra kicked a field goal and won 23-22.

Best players for Saints who seemed to be a cut above the rest were No.13 (Chase Stanley), No.11 (Matthew Mundine). No.10 (despite being sin-binned)and No.6 (before he got injured and No.9 did a good job in his abscence. Sorry didn't have a program unsure of names and despite looking more like a backrower No.8 also played very well. No.13 for Illawarra also looked very classy and was my Man of the Match.

In SG Ball the game was lost early going down 10-0, before fighting back at certain stages to eventually lose 22-10. To be honest everyone tried hard but there were no real stand outs apart from No.3 for Illawarra.

Anyone who has a program would appreciate their names.

Benny!
