I'd check out gumtree also. Picked up my rack, fid bench, olympic bar, olympic ezy bar and 140kg of weights for $400.
As for stronglifts it's probly one of the best programs I've used. It does get very taxing on the body when you start squatting very heavy weights 3 times a week though. Changed over to madcow now and plan on hitting pb's again in 4 weeks.
