Looking at the top 8, there was only 3 teams from Sydney - Roosters, Panthers and Bulldogs with no non Sydney team in the grand final. Gotta love that.

Yeah, its only taken 7 years for another all Sydney Grand Final  . Don't get too comfortable because its back to normal next year when the Broncos make it premiership number 6 8) .

Bronco's!?!?!?

On what basis. They will be lucky to make the 8 next year. The Cowboys might even finish higher that the Bronco's.

Your not a very adept judge of humor now are you CO?
Though if Seymour gets a chance to prove himself in the number 7 alongside either Berrigan or Maguire with the likes of Tony for impact off the bench then you'd be foolish to right off the Broncos. If Berrigan plays at halfback for another season then another dismal performance is on the cards.
Anyone who thinks the Broncos are going to miss the 8 or finish behind the Cowboys is truely kidding themselves though. We're talking about a side that has made the finals for 12 seasons in a row. Before we went on that losing streak we'd been in the top 4 for over 3 months and lead several times and were considered a premiership threat, all with an incompetent set of halves.

Parramatta? A side that in just the space of two years has gone from Minor Premiers, Grand Finalists and one of the best sides of their generation to not even making the 8. If any team has got nothing, its the Eels. Its back to the early to mid 90's era of incompetence for your lot.

Go Parra...... we are the biggest over achievers!. never had a grand final team or a good team but always make grand finals and gf qualifiers

Thanks for the history lesson Sal, I think you should join the crowd at the Souths forum. they love discussing past glories. Let's face it, Bronco's are not as dominant as they once were, that's a fact.

Bronco's were close to missing the finals this year had it not been for the Panthers beating Parra. The loosing streak is now 8 I beleive. Have only won 1 game at Suncorp. The writing is on the wall.

But then again that's typical Bronco's for you. The arrogant attitude that... "Hey were the Bronco's, how dare they play a semi final without us".

CO, Do you remember 99? We just about missed the finals then as well and were heavily defeated by the Sharks in the semi finals. Many were talking about doom and gloom then as well. What happened? We came back and won the minor premiership by 6 points and went on to win the competition in a truely dominant year in 2000.

This year until the last two months we'd been sitting comfortably in the top 4, lead the competition several times and were a genuine threat to the premiership. Suddenly we lost Lockyer and Tallis and dug ourselves into a hole that we couldn't get out of but how short peoples memories are.

Those years (1999,2000) are gone Sal.

This year I can name at least 6 clubs being bandied as "the ones to beat come Sept", the comp was that close. Tallis & Lockyer is all youve got. Langer, Walters, Sailor, Lote and Thorn aren't there anymore.

Langer wasn't there in 2000 either and apparently we were going to struggle after his retirement. We hardly had a great halves pairing either, in the end we had to move Walters who was in his final year into the halfback position. We won that year mainly through the forwards and we still have most of that pack on board but have seen more go on to represent State and Country since. The essence of a premiership winning side is all there its just up to the players becoming accountable for their performances and getting Seymour into the number 7 jersey as soon as possible.

theres nothing special about an all sydney GF

out of town teams always get a bit of interest and promote the game as a national sport

sydney teams just make people think the NRL is simply the NSWRL with a new name

we need the reds and the rams in the GF

How dumb. If anything for the good of the game it would of been better to have two NON- New South Wales team in the GF.

Obviously the two NSW teams that made the gf have done the hard work and deserve their position there but it's nothing to say sucked in to the outside teams

Penrith are a city in their own right at the foot of the blue mountains. It is a bit of a long bow to call them a sydney team :D

I think the only way the Broncos are going to be a real force next year is if there are less Broncos picked for the QLD Origin team.
Otherwise they're up against the same problems next season as they had this season i.e. player burnout, player injuries etc.

Origin has got nothing to do with it, people are acting like its suddenly caught the Broncos by surprise. They've dealt with it throughout the clubs history and managed to remain successful. They also managed to win all 3 of their backing up games this year, the losing streak had nothing to do with origin.
