Damn. And I thought I was being subtle. I do think you are someone who used to post here. I may be wrong, and if so I apologise profusely.

Time will tell I suppose. The guy I'm thinking of had a special level of crazy that it would be impossible to keep a lid on.

If you miss him you can find him in the comments section of Daily Telegraph articles posting under the name "Reyter".

Not a truer word said Paul Comber. Benji has been copping it delux this year and funny thing is he has missed most of it. His body caught up with him with all those injuries and he still tried hard every game.

Hutch and Widdop played together last year and they were terrible. Widdop also partnered McCorne. Again. aweful attack. It would have been nice to see Benji with McCrone or Benji with Hutch instead but Widdop does not get injured as that is the only way he will ever get dropped. Form does not come into play for him because the Coach made him capt and he would look just as stupid as he allready is with his press talks.

Bagging a guy that has achieved everything in the game as well as changed it in many ways, provided awesome memories and was our best last season by a mile is sad. He does not deserve to play in a club with fans like ours. If only most fans gave him the same respect he gives the club and the fans that would be awesome.

Thanks for the memories Benji.

I'm pretty sure Widdop also partnered Sam Williams in his first half season and when that proved to be a disaster was partnered with one other halfback before Marshall was finally signed.

It's just like a referee evening up the penalty count.
Benji supporters coming from everywhere to cry fowl and bash Widdop with the Paul Comber post the best of all.
So in other words you don't like JDB but are a fan of Widdop? Tell me, who has been better this season out of the two? It seems to be that after Marshall, the next best playmaker in the team is....... JDB. We all know Marshall has struggled this season but what you may not know is that there is supposed to be another genuine, specialist "playmaker" in the team. Do you know who it is? I will give you a hint, it's not JDB or Packer.

You obviously read very few entire posts or threads as it would appear your attention span is rather limited.
This thread is about Benji got that Benji and you want to carry on about other players and comparisons to other players to justify your position and endeavour to get others to change to it.
This is not the first time you have attempted to do this and whilst last time I got distracted from the thread this time I will stick to it and suggest you do as well.
For the record yet again Benji was a fantastic player and inspired a generation of youngsters to be just like him but IMO that player was a long time ago and in a different coloured strip.
In years to come Benji's deeds will be sung but none of them will be from his time at the Dragons as was the case with Steve Rogers.

Just caught Benji on NRL on Fox. He was asked a few pointed questions and gave honest answers. He said he is a running 5/8 who can and has had to play half back which isn't his preferred position.

He also said Mary told him on Monday he had to "look to the future" and he was playing Hutch BUT if Benji wasn't ok with that, Mary would've played him in the last 2 games. So, Benji agreed to stand down this week and wasn't dropped. Nice to see Mary can make the "tough" calls.

Actually, watching him tonight I felt a bit sorry for him...and I've been very critical of him at times this season. I have no doubt we never used him properly under Price or McGregor, but at the same time his career is in its final stages.

Anyway, thanks Benji and good luck.

See how pathetic Mary is first he says I am going to play a younger guy then asks if he is okay with it and if not he would play him.

Thats why he will never ever be a coach he is so soft its pathetic how about just stand by your decisions right or wrong instead of the back handed decisions and blaming everyone else for your own failures.

Drew yet again has been setup to fail with a coach that has no confidence in him yet JD does funny how one guy can get good results out of him and another just wants him to fail.

For the ske of your career Drew just leave.

No need to be sorry I just find it amusing Mary would actually go down that line and its imo a basic sorry Drew I am only picking you for this one game and no matter how well you go I will play Benji the week after.

Why in the hell bother its ridiculous.

Not s fan of Benji but you can't deny his impact on the game over his career
He deserves a better send off then being dumped

Bit strange that the coach had to okay his selection plans with Benji.

What I found a bit disturbing was that Benji said something like "obviously its disappointing we didn't make the finals, but everyone thought we'd come 13th anyway". You'd have to hope that may just be his mindset now that his career/life is in a bit of limbo and not reflective of how Saints are viewing their season.

I think most will agree Benji was a class player in his heyday, one of the best. Unfortunately those days are long behind him and he hasn't been helped by the shit fight thats gone on the last few years. He was never a halfback, something known to most people (except for our last two coaches apparently) and I do think he's shown more class in this latest development than our wayward coach. Best of luck to him in the future, he seems like a decent bloke. I will however be glad to see him gone and someone, anyone (Hutch?) but most of all a genuine halfback given a run under a hopefully new coach.

Yep...that 13th comment was interesting. I'm glad we meet someone's expectations.

I also found the "we were too inconsistent on and off the field" comment, but he didn't elaborate much on the off field side.
