This is an excellent article which shows you what's really going on in PNG.

Reality does bite

With the excitement of the President's 13 win over the Junior Kangaroos all but over, questions arise over the PNG Rugby Football's League's ability to host further international matches. The spectator attitude problem that we have only makes this worse, as LYDIA KAIA writes.

interesting arcticle, the real annoying thing about this is it wouldn't take millions and millions to get it right maybe 1 or 2 but i think that with a bit of help from Australia the game could flourish at all levels again.

This is another reason we must stage profitable WC's so as we can pay for the poorer countries.

It raises an interesting point, that PNG really wants NRL and this is a way to make some money for the game over there. I've always thought the NRL should play trial games in PNG like they do in country areas, amybe even a premiership game if clubs were willing, which they probably wouldn't.

Another thing that sux for PNG is the lack of PNG players in the NRL. It is likely that no Kumul will play in next year's comp. unless one of the few playing lower grades comes through. Bai is off to Leeds, Wilshere to Wires and Henari Veratau to the Brumbies. If a domestic team can beat the Jnr Roos there must be talent there, but the NRL clubs are just too lazy and tight to try to develop it.
