The press conference

This.

Seriously, if they saw nothing wrong with signing multiple contracts then I very much doubt they saw nothing wrong with omitting certain details from the returns every year.

As for the "can the NRL see their tax returns?", well, maybe after this little incident it would not surprise me if that rule suddenly changes to lessen the possibility of this happening again.
this makes me think maybe they didnt add all the under the table extras into their tax return because it might have led to ian schubert finding out about it

Yet you still think Inglis would've become the exact same player at Newcastle despite Inglis admitting the move up north saved him from ruin?

No - he would have been playing for NSW. He also would have been a centre from day one - playing outside Joey for his first few seasons - arguably would have debuted in origin and national teams first. And not embroiled in links to salary cap cheating, running away to AFL etc etc.

Do you SERIOUSLY reckon if Inglis didn't play for Melbourne he would never have played first grade?

Do you also seriously think that the only place to "Save him from ruin" was Brisbane???????

Or he would have walked out on the place the first time he heard Joey say the n/c word. Probably to Bondi...

True

Face it - he would have ended up at Manly like everyone else. Melboring would have kept Bell. Eagles dual premiers 07-08 - unstripped.

Who's to say he'd even make the PL side back then?

By his own admission he was hanging with the wrong crowd and his mind was on anything but football. When he was signed by the Storm, he was moved up north to live with a family that set him straight and got him on track.

Definitely a possibility.

I don't think he would have had the same impact he has had in the game, that's for sure.

No, but the move certainly did him the world of good.

Couldn't see him becoming the same player without it.
