Guys give the man a break. He needs our support. We just won for goodness sake! Against the 2014 premiers!

I feel really sorry for the bloke, has to cop it internally and externally. No wonder the team isn't going great guns.

I reckon that this is simply not true. I reckon he has been given too much support if anything.

He has handled himself well this week & does seem to have the support of the players. Next few games are important. We've seen in past seasons where they get flogged one week, come out the next and make a statement and then seem to decide that's enough effort for the season. I want to see what we saw against the Redfern rabble on a consistent basis.

If this is the case then that is only a good thing given our history with coaches.

What history are you talking about.

We've had-

Wayne Pearce: 26 matches; 11 wins, 13 losses, 2 draws; 42.3% winning percentage (2000)
Terry Lamb: 50 matches; 16 wins, 33 losses, 1 draw; 32% winning percentage (2001?2002)
Tim Sheens: 249 matches; 122 wins, 127 losses; 49% winning percentage (2003?2012)
Mick Potter: 48 matches; 17 wins, 31 losses; 35% winning percentage (2013?2014)
Jason Taylor: 33 matches*; 11 wins, 22 losses; 33% winning percentage (2015?)

For a comparison Manly list the following coaches and they've been really successful.

Peter Sharp ? 1999 and 2003
Des Hasler ? 2004?2011
Geoff Toovey ? 2012?2015
Trent Barrett ? 2016?

Penrith list the following coaches.

Royce Simmons: 1994?2001
John Lang: 2002?2006
Matthew Elliott: 2007?2011
Steve Georgallis 2011 (Caretaker)
Ivan Cleary: 2012-2015
Anthony Griffin: 2016-

I see nothing wrong with our support of coaches. If anything considering the lack of success we've had you'd think they would get rid of coaches a bit quicker.

Souths are a rabble. If we win the next two and beat a resurgent Roosters, then there will be something to be happy about.

Fordy20 exactly.Souths didn't give a shit.That 1st 30 mins by them was deplorable & they r really struggling this season.Im convinced there's probs between players & madge.

Souths best was Browny a kid who the Tigers coaching staff didn't rate & who is tougher than anything we've got.He punches well above his weight.

If we r seriously any good then we should be very competitive against the dogs. They have one of the most pedestrian back lines in the comp.

"We didn't play the conditions as well as we would have liked to," Taylor said.
"We planned for it, we knew what it was going to be like out there and we tried hard to control what we did. Our kicking let us down, and unforced errors were the issue for us today ... But I loved the fight in the guys. We stayed in that game a lot longer than we should have."

Same old same old

Blah blah blah we played well despite getting absolutely towelled up, our defense resembling 13 pillows strapped to tackling bags, Roosters having a shit season but aiming up against us

That game was massive for turning our season around. Imagine winning that, then rolling into Souths and beating them, then the bye. But yeah Taylor doesn't seem too phased about the loss at all

We've now lost to the 2 worst teams in the comp. Second worst defence.

After 13 games last season we had scored exactly the same number of points. However we had conceded 89 less points than this year..

So under Taylor our attack hasn't improved and our defence, which he has been focussing on, has got worse.

“We thought it was the right thing right from the start (to rest Farah) and continued to believe it was the right thing,” Taylor said.
“It was really important to have a strong team in the middle of the field and just with what Robbie had been through the last couple of weeks we just thought that was right.”
Taylor was then asked if Farah would be brought straight back in for this week’s game but was very coy with his response.
“I will assume so, we will look at that,” Taylor said.
Asked again what he meant by that, Taylor continued: “Well, each week stands on its own.
“We will work out exactly what is happening next week with our team.”
Asked if the decision would be based on Farah’s health or what was best for the team, Taylor added: “Both things.”
Former Tiger Bryce Gibbs took to Twitter to criticise Farah’s omission.
“Some great coaching today by the tigers coach by resting farah, shit didnt know you blokes were already in the semi’s! #peanut,’’ Gibbs tweeted.

Taylor is partly right, our kicking game was rubbish for most of the game, why probably due to the sh#t service the kickers got from dummy half, why because we went into the game without a recognised hooker, why because the half wit coaching has no f##king idea of what's needed or not working within our team like for example our RHS defence (Kev) is nothing but an invitation to the opposition to score yet the moron cant see it.

Surprised Gibbs found the time between knee ops and fighting cops to get to Twitter.

Yes plenty of wisdom there from the coach who:
- Would rather put himself 1st and his issues/relationship (if it does exist) with a guy who can provide the service needed from the play the ball and 35 plus tackles, before the team.

- Start a game with a dummy half and so weaken one position in order not to strengthen another,

- Retain Kev after how many chances?

- Not willing to drop either the 6 or 7 when 'blind Freddy' can see that one or both needed a stint in NSW Cup.

- Have the balls to drop the 'son of Paul'. But it really makes me wonder now if the dropping of Curtis was because his old man spoke about the short career of his son and the comparison with Bryce Cartwright.

But the coach's win % after 13 games is 38% - if it goes further south perhaps Go should go with JT.

Neither Go or Taylor r genuinely competent in there respective roles.

Taylor is the most pathetic coach in the NRL.He has been emphasising that the defence is priority from day 1.In 1 & a half seasons under this banal gibberers watch our defence is the 2nd worst in the comp & this after we've been given a very generous draw thus far.Weve played the Knights twice the Broncos during origin & havent yet played the cows etc

Additionally & unforgivably we clearly have the most inept kicking game in the comp.Theres been f**k all improvement in these significant aspects of the sport under this idiots tutelage.

Taylors dialogue especially after a loss is forever cringeworthy. How that deluded chairwomen can back the infantile coach to retain his job in '17 beggars belief. In 1 &1/2 seasons which kpi's has Taylor actually gone close to meeting !! We finished 15th last yr & will finish one spot higher this season only due to the salary cap breaches @ parra !

It makes business sense to keep Taylor in 2017. Until we know how the club will be affected by the off field salary cap and the other changes being implemented in 2018, there's no point getting a new coach. It also makes sense to keep Taylor to take the flack for instilling a more disciplined and consistent culture. From a football point of view, it made no sense not to play Farah in the Roosters match and we probably lost because of it. It made sense not to play him from a discipline point of view because the players need to learn they can't keep getting sucked in by the media to provide fodder for mucking raking and divisive stories.
