With all the work being done by the Singapore Rugby League maybe there should be a concentrated level by the IRLF to develop the game in the Pacific Area by working with the Government.

This is very difficult to combat when attempting to compete with a massive organisation like the IRU.

It says they recieve funding through the Olmpic Committee.

This is going to be an ongoing problem for Rugby League. Our players start there careers at 15/16 years of age concentrating on developing their physical skills and not much else. (Mark O'Meley only just learn't to read at 22) Where as Rugby Union blokes TEND not to make an impression until they are in there early 20's. Usually after they have their degree in economics etc. (John Eales).
Now if you could draw a comparative timeline between League and Union players you find that most players of League are allowed to drift into the abyss as they are of no use to clubs unless they are a potential coach, waterboy, weights trainer, orange peeler etc.
Whereas Union boys usually take their tertiary education into the market place and combine it with their passion for Union through business clubs, media (journalism), sponsorship etc. etc.
Leaguies need to develop themselves more off the field so they can be utilised to approach trade depts. to develop these types of self funded exercises arouond the world.

Would Rugby League have any pioneers interested in developing/conducting these exercises?
