Mary will let them fight it out in the trials next year then give it to Nighty.

I will not be surprised by that outcome.

Nighty is a great clubman but he needs to go his day is done.

Hell I would give young Thompson ago over McDonald at present.

The first question that needs to be asked....Is Dufty playing well enough to warrant selection ?
Those who watch the reggies are better qualified than me...
Dugan , even allowing for the acrimonious way his contract was handled , has still been one of our best.
Do we just admit this year is over and begin the rebuild for 2018 ?
We obviously have a number of players playing busted...does the Club give them time to overcome these dramas and at the same time give some of these up and comers the opportunity everyone is asking for to prove themselves at NRL Level ?

This is the problem with the team over the last couple of years we dont build for the following year we dont give the young blokes a chance when we could with injuries and SOO and I mean not 10min if they are given a go , The Mann to 7 was a joke he was never given the ball as a 7 . It was like Mary instructed them to give it to JDB and Widdop for first receiver . Dufty needs to come into the team so he can settle there for next year , if not he wont get a go if Nighty is playing on ...

Its funny he said his form improved after a good talk with Hornby.

He is scoring tries for fun and setting up plenty to.

Thompson has 12 this year now and he wasn't even a regular at the start of the year.

Hell even KFFL is scoring tries.

Agree. I said last week Thompson should get a run ahead of McDonald . The penny seems to have dropped with him and he looks as fit as he ever has after losing 8kgs . Thompson has a heap more mongrel in him as well .

The club has stated that next years fullback is coming from within. We should be giving them a chance to experience and learn what is required at this level, but the coach doesn't seem to invest into the future. I know he scored a try, bit IMO Mann should have had a go at the back once Dugan went off. Wasted opportunity.

This is unfortunately the truth; I don't want to see him truly embarrassed but if he plays on it is inevitable.

MANN is a winger by no means he's a half as proven yesterday .. A halfback is a specialist position and MANN is not a specialist half. Re DUGAN to centre. Yes and Mcdonald or Niggtingale to make way for MANN to one wing - dragons best move yesterday was when Mann scored his try - nightingale doesn't score that try - way too slow..

Not only did that tactic deny Mann the chance to develop, it halved the thinking requirement for the defence and gave Widdop no chance.

No one loves Nighty more than me but let's not forget the Dell moved aside for Nighty to get a starting possie; time for Nighty do do the same for youth and speed.

Sounds like Mary's brainchild.
Same debacle as when Mann, Field and Nona 'competed' for 7 at the start of the year. McCrone was always pre-ordained by Mary.
With 8 months to go there is more than enough time to find and develop a FB from within. Nighty should not be in our 17 next year imo.

McIdiot like to use the 'moving forward' answer when we get beat it's now time for him to implement that.
He needs to give Dufty and some of the young guns a run off the bench to begin the transaction to first grade for next season.

I just watched Valentine Holmes score a try with pure pace. Duges would not have scored it.
It is now imo time to blood Dufty at fullback. He has the speed and ball playing ability that the team needs.
When Holmes was blooded a couple of years ago he was hot and cold, it goes with the territory when youth is injected but the Sharks were patient with him.
Now they are reaping the rewards.
Dugan goes to right centre and Aitken on the bench.
Mann to remain in the halves as he has ball playing skills.
The team desperately needs a change up if we are to remain in finals contention.

I too agree that it is now time to test Dufty. Dugan at right centre would stiffen up our right edge and a replacement for Macdonald - who is now well out of form should also be considered.

As far as Mann is concerned, Mary needs to show more confidence in his ability to run the right side of the field. Mann should receive at least the same service from McInnes as McCrone has enjoyed this season. I believe it absolutely stupid to funnel all of the backline play through Widdop; he is now very heavily marked and so we are going nowhere when it is time for the backs to weave their magic.
