I cant believe they were even considering Smarsh, they made a point of talking about his injury almost as it was an excuse for not picking him.

If we added SOK and Neville that would be our strongest possible team for mine.

Was really interesting to see the lack of knowledge being bandied about by some who were calling for Cummins to come straight back into the Test side, with only a couple of Futures League matches (some of which he only played one innings) and no Shield matches behind him. This is how we got into problems with him before, he needs too build back up into things!

As for Brisbane, I'll be happy with either Bird or Sayers, but Bird should be ahead. He hasn't done anything worthy of dropping him out of the XI.

Lyon wouldn't trouble the Paki's on a dust bowl, I doubt he will be giving them any headaches at the Gabba.
I don't like the idea of 4 quicks, but I also don't like Lyon in the side.

So for me it comes down to what I dislike the most and that would be having 4 seamers in a team.
Although they are all different types of seamers I think the change of pace that Lyon offers is a better option...but not by much.

Lyon isn't in the best 4 bowlers in home conditions until maybe the SCG test. If your best four bowlers are quicks then IMO you pick four quicks.

Steve Smith can bowl useful spin for a few overs to offer some variation and Maddinson is actually pretty handy with the ball as a change option. We don't "need" a spinner
