Pollution is not by necessity akin to global warming, or are we now moving on to pollution is good for mankind?

Given that the very first sentence in the article quoted in the OP refers to the Paris climate accord, I'm satisfied that referring to global warming is appropriate

Given your post was in response to discussion about an article that begins..........

Britain's Government is set to ban the sale of petrol and diesel cars from 2040, when all vehicles must be fully electric as part of a plan to clean up air pollution, reports say.

I'm satisfied that my response which was to both your post, and the posts that preceded it was more than appropriate.

I was under the impression that you weren't always happy since you spend most of your time in here complaining

I think you'll find should you chose to review, you have mistaken me for someone else.

    Complaining's not in my DNA.

As discussed previously, the odds that there will still be petrol powered consumer cars on sale by 2040 are extremely low regardless of regulation. Car manufacturers are already pushing our hybrid and fully electric models on their own and have made moves to have their entire fleets go in this direction.

Electric cars need to be completely replaced every decade you see, leading to a huge increase in new car sales over their petrol brothers who can stay on the road for 4-5 times as long.

Australia is a bit of a unique beast however given there are some who drive great distances every day to get to and from work, and we are just a geographically massive country in general. So range and charge times are a little more of a problem for certain parts of Oz (as surely has pointed out previously).

    Are you mad?

If we build and drive that many horses, the amount of methane they produce will have us hankering for the good old days of carbon emissions.

You know it make sense , there is much mining and fabrication required to produce electric vehicles.

The horse and cart all you need is grass and trees.
