Laos could probably field a better one. The NZ expat asians certainly could.
Thats good to hear. Ive only known one Laoatian dude and he was quite athletic, excelling at any thing we did in P.E including cricket.

Tongans Mate Maa IMO have underperformed for so long now. They should be on par with England or even us. ONE of the reasons they havent reached these heights is due to a lack of a developed spine, its like they dont do spine. Also the halves theyve had are reserve grade halves. They obviously got the backs and forwards and now they got Ata and Tui and thats a real difference. Both these guys will be looking to get noticed as theyre currently in the ISP.

Just look at their team this year...
1. Will Hopoate – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
2. Daniel Tupou – Sydney Roosters
3. Brenko Lee - Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
4. Michael Jennings – Parramatta Eels
5. Jorge Taufua – Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
6. Tuimoala Lolohea – New Zealand Warriors
7. Ata Hingano – New Zealand Warriors
8. Andrew Fifita – Cronulla Sutherland Sharks
9. Siliva Havili – St George Illawarra Dragons
10. Leilani Latu – Penrith Panthers
11. Sika Manu (c) - Hull FC
12. Felise Kaufusi – Melbourne Storm
13. Sio Siua Taukeiaho – Sydney Roosters
14. Sione Katoa – Penrith Panthers
15. Joe Ofahengaue – Brisbane Broncos
16. Siosaia Vave – Parramatta Eels
17. Addin Fonua-Blake – Manly Warringah Sea Eagles

Out of favour Warrior Tui Lolohea is set to meet with Tigers coach Ivan Cleary this week, as the race for his signature hots up.

Lolohea is contracted to the Warriors until the end of the 2018 season, but the Auckland club has granted the 22-year-old permission to talk to other clubs.

It's understood that several clubs would like to gain Lolohea's services as early as this season, and the Warriors may be prepared to consider an immediate release.

The Tigers appear to be favourites for his signature. Lolohea has family in Sydney and the attraction of playing alongside Ben Matulino next year would probably appeal.

It's believed that Cleary and Lolohea will meet this week.

It's convenient timing, as the Tongan team have their training base in Campbelltown, which doubles as the Tigers headquarters.

Australian sources have indicated that the Tigers see Lolohea as a possible replacement for James Tedesco next year, but he could conceivably wear the No 6 jersey this season if Mitchell Moses is allowed to depart for Parramatta.

But the Tigers are not the only ones in the hunt for Lolohea.

The Cowboys are also potential suitors, and the possibility of playing behind their impressive forward pack would be a good incentive.

North Queensland also have a proven record of success, and are a stable operation off the field though their halves (Johnathan Thurston and Michael Morgan) and fullback (Lachlan Coote) are locked in for 2018.

The Raiders also loom as a destination for Lolohea.

Coach Ricky Stuart has a high opinion of the Tongan international, especially given his ability to play in every position across the backline.

If Lolohea wanted to shift clubs this season - and the Warriors are prepared to release him - a move would need to be completed before the June 30 deadline.

A prompt departure seems to be a logical decision, to commence a new career offshore.

He was the first choice right winger at Mt Smart at the start of this season, playing there in the first two games against the Knights and Storm.

Lolohea filled in at fullback against the Bulldogs, when Roger Tuivasa-Sheck was ruled out with concussion, before appearing at five eighth against the Dragons in round four, after Kieran Foran was scratched during the warm-up.

He hasn't been sighted in first grade at the Warriors since.

Lolohea appears to be well down the pecking order at Mt Smart, and like Konrad Hurrell last year, needs to leave New Zealand to both find himself and fulfil his potential.

Don't like the sound of that article. Seems to me that we are losing him without gaining anything in return... I know player trades haven't worked out for us in the past but some compensation would be nice imo

Unless you are offloading a player whose market value is higher than that of their current contract, then really the best you can expect is to just get them off your books. And use the saved money for a better investment.
Our compensation is no longer losing $XX on someone who is a dud for our club.

Wests Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of Tuimoala Lolohea, effective immediately.

Lolohea has joined Wests Tigers until at least the end of the 2019 season and is available for selection for the team’s Round 13 clash against the St George Illawarra Dragons.

The versatile 22 year old has played 53 NRL games for the New Zealand Warriors since making his debut in 2014.

Wests Tigers head coach Ivan Cleary welcomed Lolohea to the club.

“On behalf of everyone at Wests Tigers I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Tui to the club,” said Cleary. "Tui has shown that he is a player of tremendous natural talent. We look forward to helping him develop, and reach his true potential, in the coming years."

Good move on all parts imo.

For Lolohea - A chance to (hopefully for him) focus on one single position, and become an established FGer

For Tigers - Get a talented player with over 50 games and is only 22

For us - Let's be honest, the Warriors have up here. If Lolohea was given ONE position, instead of a 'jack of all trades', he could have been a master of one. Good for us, as the player understandably wanted to move on.

I see a win for all parties involved with this move.

Best of luck Tui

Something the Warriors have been shamefully unable to do with pretty much anyone in recent years

Good luck to him.
Yes, he played a number of positions, but he really didn't stand out in any one of them.
He thought he was a half and proved he wasn't.
Be interesting to see where Ives plays him; possibly ISP cup..
