Also, "terrible clanger streak", is that what we are calling routinely running with unverified information from anonymous sources? That's what seems to be hurting CNN the most, reporting from sources they're not given permission to identify. Don Lemon might not be sitting there lying his head off, but he is repeating the reporting of others on CNN who are using sources that most certainly are. How does that make CNN any different from Fox News when it comes to being a platform for distributing misinformation, or, to use the parlance of our times, fake news? You seem to have the position that if it's coming out of Sean Hannity's mouth that it must be a lie. CNN, on the other hand, is an endless stream of faces telling you about what some anonymous person told them about documents the reporter hasn't even seen. Not very transparent for the "truth" network is it.

One only needs to look at the two lawsuits BuzzFeed is currently facing over their publishing of the Steele dossier to see how the game between CNN and the so called "intelligence community" works. Fusion GPS is a firm you're going to be hearing a lot more about in the near future, and they're linked to the Steele dossier and both of those Russian stooges that sat in on the meeting with Trump Jr.

The supreme court has already ruled that the news is under no obligation to be truthful so why anyone would trust any US news outlet is beyond me. They are entertainment first and foremost. CNN reckons they can get ratings by bagging out Trump they will continue bagging out Trump. Look what it did for Colbert.

Irrespective of what one thinks of CNN. Both CNN and MSNBC have had significant ratings boosts during the Trump presidency, Fox News on the other hand has seen a significant decline.

The rhetoric around CNN obviously has some merit, but they are nowhere near the worst at it. With that said most cable news networks think they're ESPN, so any panels should be taken with a grain of salt, it makes for boring TV if you don't have contrarians on there.

Fox news is a propaganda machine at this point, with Shep Smith and Chris Wallace being the only guys who will actually state what they think.

With that said, if you're watching cable for your news... You're doing it wrong.

I think one really does have to assume all news is biased to a degree and just deal with it. If someone posts from a really biased source like kos or breitbart its probably still worth a look at. Just obviously its going to be extremely partisan but so is the msm

24 hour news has been a blight on discourse but what can you do

Why? They both read like fan fiction. Neither have any basis in reality whatsoever.

Its worth considering any source. Maybe an incredibly biased source might be accurate in that time. Who broke the Lewinsky story way back in the day ?

    Not really.

    http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/cable-news-ratings-cnn-fox-news-msnbc-q2-1202479416/

All cable networks have seen an increase in post-election viewership. MSNBC have made the strongest gains on the back of Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell and a hyper focus on Trump and the hilarious collusion narrative. One of Rachel Maddow's highest ratings moments was when she demonstrated that Trump paid more income tax than Bernie Sanders. CNN is Trump 24/7 and they're still coming last.

Maddow is the Kim Kardashian of the US media

Most people probably tune in just to see how many different ways she can humiliate herself

If you guys want to amuse yourselves then it's probably worth checking in on Keith Olbermann and his prestigious new role with GQ Magazine where he barks out directives on YouTube to "The Resistance" from his basement.

mong can post all he likes on bolt - i think he has valid criticism - bolt can get repetitive and a bit crusady - of all the criticisms i would have of mong i think bolt is fair game

one of the memes on here of late is this whole idea that if you comment on something you are 'triggered'
we are all guilty but I think its getting tired and a bit of a cop out

Your interpretation of whining like a little bitch is a tad broad there James, broad enough for any form of dissent to qualify, hence, yeah, you actually have been whining like a little bitch.
