Reagan was a long serving politician before he ran for President though wasn't he?
So kinda an older Arnie?
Which is to say, i don't think it really changes anything if the cult of personality got Ron elected as governor before making it to white house.
It's still much the same thing, just a slower career trajectory.
Was Reagan that famous? He was sort of B list wasn't he? (I'm no expert in this area)
Finished his career in 1965, elected in 1966.
Tbh I always thought Trump a B-lister, I had no idea his show was so popular in the US.
Well, here's something else they have in common.
"Make America Great Again" (MAGA) is a campaign slogan used in American politics that was popularized by Donald Trump in his successful 2016 presidential campaign. President Ronald Reagan used the similar slogan "Let's Make America Great Again" in his 1980 presidential campaign.
They both f**ked Nancy Reagan too
She loves a bun, the old Nance.
She’d f**k a dog
She didn’t have a sexuality
Read a really interesting article about Reagan recently. Apparently the dude was super vague and lazy with policy detail and basically delegated everything, and spent a bunch of time watching TV and movies instead of studying indepth policy and events, and Nancy was often actually the decision maker. But he had one key attribute that made him effective which was that he was an actor, he was super happy giving scripted speeches, knew how to hit his cue and deliver a speech convincingly (tear down that wall!) and he stayed on script. Thats seems to be the key difference with Trump, he can be good at times when he's on the front foot and using his persona but he often seems to go off script and say shit that is either incoherent or just plain terrible.
Are you saying only whites can make shit to share with other people?
Trump was pretty famous even before The Apprentice, always had a talent for self promotion.
Who's on third
That’s Melania level plagiarism
Not quite on the level of Hillary plagiarism though...
Im honestly surprised parties dont do it more often...
Find a decent actor to be the face, let them focus on being liked/doing media and have the policy wonks behind them run the show.
It is effectively the structure of democratic politics; the people watch the spectacle of the elections, while the boring stuff happens where no one sees. It seems like the candidates could follow the same path...
