Valentine Holmes depository thread.

Mods seems we have a new player that a few forummers want to use as a soccer ball so can we have all posts made in other threads about Val Holmes placed here please?

If anyone wants to kick Holmes or defend him please post here so other threads aren't hijacked with a lot of rubbish.

But hijacking is what we do. Has there ever been a thread that has stayed on track.
Cmon.

It's the evolution of the sharks.
First we just wanted to win a few games. Then it had to be the semis, then we had to make the GF.
Now if we don't go back to back, we are shit.

That includes Holmes too. He is clearly shit because his name isn't Ben barba. Clearly shit because he is a different style.

I just thank god we don't have Nathan Gardner as our fullback. That bloke was awful. Whatever happened to him??

He scored a length of the field try, untouched. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

What happened to him, he was Carney's friend.......the mascot for the Carney Army!

Is it all doom and gloom? This is considering we are at the bottom for completion rate, errors, penalties, and are bottom 4 for tackles in the opposition 20.
Val is performing well for a guy with his first full off season at Fullback, coming back from injury, into a brand new spine.

The glaring issue for mine, the team inheriting Pomeroy's hands, Greg Bird's discipline and James Maloney turning to shit.

Pretty good stats from Val considering he missed the first 3 games of the season.

Like you say cb4 this is with a side struggling for fluency in it's play with the worst completion rate, errors, penalties and bottom 4 for tackles in opposition 20.

Can't wait to see what he can produce when the Club turns some of those stats around.

Frenz and reef have a ways to go to reach the lofty S73 derailment campaign of 2014-2016.

Just put him back on the wign , where he will be probably pretty good , halve his salry to $400k & bring Benny back.
Pretty simple way to go back to back.

Except vals not going to be overjoyed at the pay cut and the nrl will place a nominal value on barbas contract making it impossible for us to comply with the salary cap in any event.

Yes please. He's a good player but he's not earning half is wage at the moment. Back on the wing son

Welcome back sir Benny.

I just reckon get Barba for next year.

He ain't gunna be any good this year.

He played so well last year as he had a great offseason - he hasn't had 1 this time, he simply won't hit the ground running.

Since when does any (in)decent NRL club worry about complying with that salary cap thing.

Interesting stats on the fullbacks....the one I find most intriguing is Darriarse, On stats alone you wouldn't have him in your top 6 or 7. The thing about Benny this year is that the Nrl could only have a token value on him considering he can only play two games of the regular season (max) plus semis. That would mean that very few sides would be interested cause there's no certainty that they would be playing semi's to get any real value out of him......Unless of course you are the Sharks.(Val)....Storm (Slater) or the Roosters (Not so Flash)....
