The West Indies Wahoos are fast on track for needing to purchase a trophy cabinet after winning their second nines tournament in just as many outings. The prestigious York Nines tournament, which features 24 sides from England, Scotland, France, Russia and South Asia was the latest venue where the highly talented Wahoo side showed their scoring potential racing through the tournament undefeated.
Coached by Steve Pryce, the relatively young Wahoos showed not only a fantastic potential to score tries, but also were one of the best defensive teams in the tournament, which proved vital in their clashes against South Asia Bulls, Lezignan (France) and York Ironsiders in the final in which their was less than two points between the sides at full time.
The tight encounter between the South Asia Bulls and the West Indies means that next months full international clash between the two sides will surely be a thrilling encounter.
