What do we need to win a premiership?

The obvious one is we would like an extremely good hooker. And our forwards need a bit of an overhaul.
But, seriously, until the salary cap (and particularly the unfair TPA system) is overhauled, Parramatta won't be winning any premierships. Sad fact. However (and maybe I'm speaking from a lofty postion because I've experienced us winning four premierships already), does it really matter so much if we don't win the title? I mean, just following the team really should be enough. Sure, winning that grand final is exciting (very exciting) but some of my most memorable moments watching the Eels haven't been premiership deciders. Winning the Melbourne game in 2010. The Manly game in '81 (last game at Cumberland Oval. Lots of memories. Even this year watching Mitchell Moses slowly finding form and realising it's the first time we've had a real specialist half-back and a real specialist five-eight in the team for god knows how long. It's exciting. But if I only followed Parramatta because of the chance to win a premiership, I would have stopped watching years ago.

There's only one extremely good hooker and that's Cameron Smith. Then you have maybe Josh Hodgson? But there's rumours that he overcalls his halves and I don't think he has the experience or ability to do that. After that who is there? Isaac Luke hasn't been good since moving to the warriors, Farah isn't much chop, Peats is admirable in defence. So you're looking at guys like Koroisau, Cook, McInnes, Granville, Friend and I don't consider any of them to be extremely good. Then you have a host of young dummy halves in Levi, Brailey, Brandon Smith who are largely untested.

Brandon Smith is a future star, but I'm sure he'll somehow be happy to wait around for another 2 or 3 years on shit money just for Grub Smith to retire.........

I'm not saying that there is a specific hooker we should be chasing; I'm just saying that, ideally, that's what we would like.

I reckon Kaysa's good enough as long as he's not playing the full 80.

Hope he gets some luck with injuries.

Injurys permitting, which is a significant issue with our current crop of hookers. Regardles, Im of the opinion that King to start with Kaysa on the bench is as good as we could hope for. Again, its just my opinion but on what Ive seen of King, I prefer this conbination to Nathan Peats without even considering the cost implications.

Okay, that's a bit silly then imo. I'm sure every club bar the Storm are also looking for an extremely good hooker.

It would be pretty wicked if he didn't.

With the amount of injuries he's had, it is like someone has put a spell on him.

A soothsayer is a clairvoyant though, not a wizard or a sorcerer, so I'm deducting points for that.

We need to get rid of the dominance of the Hillsong Christian types.
Those types of guys are lovely guys, but bring the wrong culture for rugby league clubs to become great on the field.
