Where will we finish and what should happen after

I reckon we'll finish 13th.

Eels show they've still got the hunger to win with f**k Norman and Foran going off the rails off the field. I reckon they will finish above us. Once our chances of making the 8 are exhausted we'll go to pieces.

It would be nice halfway through the season to sit there and think you're a pretty good chance of finishing up in the eight rather than calling on the deities to gift a charmed run home to sneak in to the eight.

Even in 2005 we look cooked halfway through the year. Apart from 2000, 2010 & funnily enough 2012 before we went to shit, we've never looked like certainties for the eight (yes I am aware we finished outside the eight in 2000 and 2012, but halfway through the year we were in the top four.)

Why should he leave if we've overperformed. I don't think we've overperformed though.

we aren't a finals team and we weren't at the start of the season. overperforming in this season isn't hard with the roosters, rabbits and sea eagles all imploding and the Eels being hit with a hammer. we might have more W's then I though we would at the start of the season but the team(in particular the halves) isn't any more consistent and his plan/structure for the team isn't working.

IMO he should fall on his sword but he wont

Wonder what Taylor will use to deflect his performance, punt his staff, sack a player or two, blame the refs, the NRL......

I've had a look at the run home and I may be crazy but I can see us possibly squeezing into 8th spot! Of course we'll end up losing the games we should win but having a look:

Should/have potential to beat the Eels and 'Queens in the next fortnight.
We play the Cows and Raiders at Leichhardt and we're always tough to beat there. Same when we play the Tits at Campbo.
Got the Panthers at the Riff, and Warriors in NZ, and while both games will be tough we could jag a win there.

So there is hope!

We only leave Sydney once before the finals. Thats very helpful given how bad that run home could've been

Really our run home is great because we play all the teams we're competing with for 7th/8th. Honestly I think we'll miss out and it will probably be due to F/A. The storm loss and the blow out in Canberra will end up costing us IMO.

We seem to be finally having a bit of luck. Next week we'll play a parra team who seem to have put the cue in the rack for the year. They'll be missing Foran, Norman, Jennings, Radradra, likely Mau and possibly Beau Scott. That is Simply must win and hopefully win well.

The following week we play the cowboys at Leichhardt who could be missing Thurston. They'll still be deserved favourites however our record against them (particularly in Sydney) is fantastic. A loss wouldn't be catastrophic but a win would be massive.

Then the really telling games. Titans, Panthers and Warriors. All are 4 point games and winning/losing margins will be so important.

Finish up with a game v the raiders which could be hugely important Or mean nothing for both teams. Ideal scenario would be the raiders are safely in a spot and can't finish higher or lower regardless of the game outcome.

I haven't looked at the other teams draws so don't know what theirs is like but to me are draw couldn't be better. Looking forward to it.

Based on current form, we are better than Warriors, Broncos, Panthers, and all the teams below us. We have a good run home and the opportunity to steal points of teams we are competing for a top 8 spot with. I reckon it will come down to the wire but we will sneak into 8. Broncos are in a downward spiral and may even fall out themselves.

We need a big game. If we didn't lose Grant and Lawrence and had a specialist hooker on the bench I reckon we could have blown the Dragons away by 30.

A win this week, followed by another against the Cowboys WITHOUT Thurston at Leichhardt could get us on a bit of a roll.
