If Eddie Paea is so good then why on earth would souffs sign Craig Wing ?

There were 10 or more clubs chasing Mitchell Pearce before he signed with the Roosters. So how many were chasing after Eddie Paea?
souths play without a traditional 5/8. we have a halfback either side of the ruck, so adding wing helps paea gain experience...

as for how many clubs were chasing paea, thats a good question im sure he was being chased but i spose only his manager would know who they were....

This poll would be a lot more justifiable halfway through next season - you cant compare Pierce and Paea i mean Eddie Paea has only played 3 games of NRL, although he did carve up for the Junior Kiwis and looks to be the solution at 7 for NZ (hence why he is currently on his way to GB as we speak to get some experience before next year's World Cup)

Maybe cos Paea is young and Wing has won a comp?

Youth is not the issue because Pearce is young too. The fact is Paea is not up to it yet whereas the Roosters have full confidence in Pearce.

What exactly do you base that fact on?

- The fact he lead his Premier League side to the final?
- The fact he lead his Junior Kiwis (as captain) to a win over the Junior Roos?
- The fact he is likely to be a test debutant within the next month? or at very least next year?

Sure you have a preference for Mitchell Pearce - doesn't mean you have to spout crap about anybody else

Yeah right, Souffs are gonna play both Wing and Paea in the halfs.:D You are right about the experienced bit though, souffs need experience in the halfs and that's why Paea will be in the reggies. So no need to compare first graders like Pearce with Reserve graders like eddie Paea.:)

Pearce and Anasta will complement each other, youth and experience.

Exactly no one really wanted Eddie Paea, i wonder why.

THe fact that Souffs needed to sign Craig Wing because Eddie Paea is not up to it.

Even a souths fan agree's with me so how is that spouting crap.

yet Pearce is good enough, the question is answered.

Im sure if Souths were down the bottom of the ladder this year like the Chooks were Paea would have got a more extended run in first grade but they managed to make the 8 with a caretaker 7 (Jeremy Smith).

Cos it is crap

Craig Wing certainly isnt a specialist number 7 he could end up playing anywhere in the halves/hooking/bench role.

Just because you sign an experienced player to add depth to a certain area of your team doesnt mean you think the other players 'aren't up to it'. Injuries do happen you know

He is a good mentor for Paea as well - Pierce does have the comfort of Anasta (and his old man) for support im sure Paea can gain a lot of guidance off Wing

so 10th place is down the bottom? As a warriors man, you should be aware on where the bottom is.:)

The point was that obviously Roosters didnt have MANY options in the halfback role this year and as it became increasingly likely that the Roosters were going to struggle to make the 8 (before the big Fittler streak) they didnt see any harm in blooding Pierce

They were in different situations

Confidence that is horribly misguided. Pearce is rubbish.

I didn't realise Mitchell Pearce was a kiwi.
too bad for him.... if he was then maybe he would be in the UK...

the experience Paea will gain from being in camp with the kiwis and most likely play a test will be more than anything pearce will get during this off-season. which for me puts him ahead pf pearce.

When Paea returns from the tour he will be a much better player for the experience...

thats not to say the roosters lose out.... if anything they gained more than most clubs... SKD and Sam Perret will be much better players next season. the roosters will benefit from that. especially Perret... his c**k-up that cost the kiwis the test will actually make him stronger i think.
