Rugby fans will have to pay to watch the Super 12 season on TV, after Channel Seven abandoned its broadcast of the competition.
Just three weeks from the start of the season, the Super 12 has found itself without a free-to-air broadcast partner.
Seven decided late last year not to renew its contract, as it lost the network money.
For the first time in its nine-year history, it seems likely the Super 12 will be shown solely on the FoxSports pay TV channel.
Pay TV sources told the Herald that the Nine and Ten networks did not appear interested in picking up the Super 12 rights.
