Why won't 9 show the All Stars game on GEM in VIC/SA/WA?

Don't get me wrong, I love heading down to the Limerick Arms in South Melbourne and have Guinness put in front of me by a steady stream of hot Irish bargirls and watching the All Stars as much as the next person but this is pretty piss weak.

They show GF, Origin and Tests LIVE into Melbourne during the ratings period but won't show a trial game. Makes no sense. And the problem is nobody at the NRL has the balls to step in.

I really hope 10 wins so i don't have to touch 9 again.

I'm afraid that Ten would treat RL worse than Nine do! Ten is notorious for AFL loving and rugby league bashing! Look at what happened in 2007 when Helen Kapablitos wanted to be a Storm ambassador and Ten said "no" cos they are an "AFL network".

Nevertheless, glad I dont live in Melbourne. Only have visited the place to eat the nice Italian/Greek food there, but that will be as far as it goes (before the likelihood of bumping into someone whose first question is "So which (AFL) team do you support?")

I moved down near on 2 years ago from Brisbane(for a girl)(worst mistakes are made for girls) and yea I get that question all the time, but its always phrased "So, who do you barrack for?"
Ill either say the Broncos or Warriors, and it throws them immediately, they dont know what to make of it.
Victorians cant comprehend the idea that someone could like a sport other than AFL..

And actually playin footy is rather hard depending on where you live, and I live right in the city.. Nearest club is 45 mins by tram/train/bus..
