With news that the Bears are to get a $3.5mill govt funded RL centre of excellence if their bid is succesful I wonder if RL will get something similiar in Perth?

I have been watching, with some envy, the WARU's new Govt funded $10milion centre being built at Perry Lakes. I wonder if the WA Govt will make the same investment in RL?

You'd like to think we would get one.

Though, knowing the sporting landscape in Perth, and the sheer rigidity of state government (particularly a liberal state government) to emphatically support sporting ventures; I cannot see it occurring.

It might in a decade. Probably not in the imminent future; unless private enterprise, corporate support; and the ARL/NRL provide the financial windfall and public 'peer pressure' to pay for it, and have the government contribute a small percentage.

If the WARL lobby the MP's and dept of Sport & Rec then why not but then again most Libs in WA would be rah rah fans or ping pong supporters. We can only try.
