Let's change track from the viciousness of other threads and get back to the football discussion.

The main story in England this week has been the apparent 'tiredness' of Raheem Sterling which saw him start Sunday's Euro qualifier against Estonia from the bench. The only source of the alledged fatigue was his England coach Roy Hodgson who mentioned it pre-game.

Now given that Sterling has played as much football between now and the start of this season as he did between the start of last season and Christmas 2013, it is reasonable to accept that a 19 year old may be a bit overworked. However, in his pre-QPR presser on Friday Rodgers said Sterling was being publically slammed for comments "he didn't even make".

So a few questions for discussion:
1. Who's telling porkies?
2. Why would a coach even publically divulge a key bit of information on one of his players?
3. Was Hodgson bullshitting as a means to get back at LFC and Rodgers over their criticism regarding the English NT medical/training treatment of Sturridge?
4. Did Hodgson make such a comment because he knew his team was about to produce a dog turd of a performance?

In my opinion, given the gullible pommy press lapped it up and ran with that story all week, thus ignoring the far more important issue that England was so shit it needed an arsey Rooney FK to beat lowly Estonia, I'm inclined to take the fourth option and give Woy the benefit of the doubt.

What are others' thoughts?

What I've been taking issue with is how some people like Shearer have said, 'the working man who does 10 hours a day does not want to hear about how tired Raheem is'. What a moronic comment. If Raheem treats his football with the attitude of the average working man, he'll burn his career out by the time he's 25.

Everyone speaks about how important it is not to burn out young players with too much game time, yet some of these same people think Raheem is a bit of a diva because he apparently refused to play to avoid burning himself out.

The Liverpool physio came out and said you have a two day recovery program after a game.

Therefore it is very likely he is tired and asked not to play.

What Rodgers has not been able to grasp is now you have champs league football you don't get two days to recover.
Last year you played once a week and a lot of people said this year would be a major shock to the system.

It is clear people in charge at Lfc have not grasped this reality and it is badly effecting your team.

Sterling is already burning out, and now Sturridge is injured again.

Couple this with the second season additional pressure and you have to be very careful with some of your players this year.
Something I don't think Rodgers is capable of.

To answer the questions though.
1. Rodgers. Sterling wasn't wrong to say it though.
2. Hodgson is getting sh*t for his teams. Deflection.
3. Yes. Given the comments from your physio he may have a point to.
4. Yes.

When Sterling has played the same amount of games Oscar has the last 2 seasons then he has an excuse to be "tired".
