Joondalup RU, however, will not agree with any of our plans, ideas, ect.

Surely if no agreement can be made between yourself, and the Joondalup Brothers Rugby Union - then a third party would be involved to ensure mediation? - That, to me, seems a logical choice.

Unfortunately mate, 'logic' isn't a word that should be used in regards to this project!
That being said, it appears as though things might finally be happening. I've been told in recent days that I (as the secretary of the Giants) and our club president are going to be needed to sign something next week.

I think it's happening!

Excellent.

Please keep us informed on how it develops! :)

Bulldogz Vs South Perth which the Dog were well beaten 66-22,I have seen some stupid and ignorant ref efforts in the past few weeks but the clown tosay was just beyond belief I include the linesmen in that .
He had no idea,I also thought if you got 10 min off you left the playing area and went into the room, but not in WA,I afraid I had a fallout with the WARL rep at the ground over it,and ended up calling him an a^&*hole to his face.
Usual stuff on U Tube,I also object to the Reds Players being allowed to return,if they had got into the finals they would not be there so I think it throws the whole comp out of whack.

I think next season they should stack the two weakest clubs with Reds fringe players and returning Reds players to even up the comp.

Can't be much fun for Willagee this year.

They should've done that from the start.

As for the sin-binned players having to leave the arena, yes even in WA, they are supposed to. As (most) WA grounds are pretty much just parks with a clubhouse stuck on the sideline, generally what is supposed to happen is that the sin-binned player goes to the time-keeper and waits there. At Admiral, it's in the newly added extension. At The Arena, it's usually in the time-keeper's box up the top of the grandstand. At North Beach, they usually go and stand in the doorways of the changerooms. At Willagee, it's at the tuck shop / bar (or near enough to it anyway). At Rockingham today, a player from both Joondalup and Rockingham got sin-binned and had to wait in the tunnel. Funny thing was, no-one escorted them or kept them seperate! Had these two been the main fighters who'd been squaring off against eachother on the field, this could cause some dramas I would think!

Re the "sin bin" situation at Belmont yesterday, the South Perth player that was sin bined did go to the time keepers area as it has all season.Re the refeering it was to say at least horrible.Penaltys to South Perth for Central's players laying to long in the tackles in the early part of the game put Central's on the back foot from the start. As for having the Reds players back it just brings the competition right back in favour of South Perth and North Beach.Whilst these players were out representing W.A. in the Bundaberg cup the competition was very even, alas the two "favourte clubs" of the WARL get to shine again.:x

fair enough that reds players return to 'their' clubs. ridiculous that imported reds players can still get allocated to the stronger clubs. north beach had gareth morton running around the other week. apparently he requested that allocation but he should have been overruled and sent to willagee or freo.
on the other hand if freo all of a suddenly got 4 or 5 reds players for the last 2 or 3 rounds and managed to knock off the 5th placed or 4th places team and got into the finals thatd be pretty bad too.

and on the other note, i agree its pretty stupid where sin bin players stand at belmont.

You can't be frustrated with Gareth Morton's placement in North Beach.

The fact of the matter is, he has no alignment with any local clubs due to being imported/attracted into the WA Reds. His placement into a WARL grade club was more based on his location which is entirely reasonable. North Beach covers a large area of suburbia, where if zones were created for developmental reasons, he would have been directed to North Beach regardless.

I understand the requirement, or rationale of bolstering lowly clubs with classy players - though the reality is - if I lived in the inner-north, or coastal-northern suburbs, I wouldn't want to play for Willagee or Fremantle considering their locations either - where if I was assigned a team due to having never represented any clubs lower than a state level; the logical choice would be the local club.

As for the WA Reds players being able to return to their former clubs. That is a tricky discussion. After all, prior to the WA Reds inception, the players who did return to their previous clubs, were always there - hence the dominance of the South Perth and North Beach. You can argue the opposite, that those clubs now suffer on the back of the WA Reds draining their local stocks. However, due to the heirarchy of importance and representation, the WA Reds take precedence. If anything, while I dislike inequity in a competition, if South Perth and North Beach are able to train / development / grow their athletes to such a strong level, then it doesn't seem fair to them if they lose bulk talent without any ability to have them return when it counts.

A fairer way to adjudicate this whole scenario, would be similar to the way a rival code works. For any WA Reds players to be-able to return to their local clubs and play at this "business end" of the season - they must have played a minimum of 5 or more games for this local club. It seems ludicrous that they can play no games at all; and then slot in when it suits at finals time.

exactly, no reds players will play in the finals unless they have played X (5 i think) games for their club during the season. morten certainly wont be qualifying.
i didnt say i was frustrated that morten went to north beach, just suggested that he probably should have gone to one of the other clubs. it doesnt really matter where he lives, how many times do you think he went to north beach?

this subject has certainatly been the talk of the town!!

reds players with more than 3 games
for the reds – must have played a minimum of 5 local club fixtures in either
first or reserve grade only, pre season fixtures do not
qualify

reds players with less than 3 games
for the reds – must have played a minimum of 3 local club fixtures in either
first or reserve grade only, pre season fixtures do not
qualify

What if his form deteriorates to a level where he's semi-regularly playing fixtures in 1st Grade? - or - if he's injured, and returns to 'game play' via the 1st Grade competition prior to a return to state level?

It's simply logical to enable them to be zoned to a club in their local area.
