Young stars added to the squad

The Knights have added John Morris, Kurt Gidley and Joshua Smith to the training team for the grandfinal. That makes 7 guys in their early twenties who will get a taste of grandfinal football. Timana Tahu, Steve Simpson, Daniel Abraham, Josh Perry and Morris, Gidley and Smith.

An interesting point - the game will feature three members of the Valentine/Eelebana under 15 side from 1996, Josh Perry, Daniel Abraham and Luke Burt. Other members of that team were Brett Finch and Clint Newton. That side was heavily influenced by former Dragons great Robert Finch, who was then the junior development officer for the Knights and is now junior development officer for Canberra.
It goes to show what good coaching at an early age can achieve.
