Carney and Robson are woefully out of form. All play making duties have fallen on Morris' head, which he isn't good at.

The coach has not addressed Carney's defensive issues.

So I'd be blaming coaching and out of form players as much as injuries, if not moreso.

The application isn't there like it was last year and it's hard to instill that among players when the coach doesn't want to be the coach.

Totally agree, I love Lewis and I know he is a great player, but I have also wondered why he has left the field during a number of games, only to find out he was on the field the whole time. we just dont use him properly at all.

If you look at the total games we've gotten out of our starting pack, plus Heighington, Taga and Toops off the bench and Carney/Robson and Ryan from the halves and backs you've got a total of 69 games played out of a possible 110. Take Wade and Heighno out and it's 50 of 99.

That's 9 of the best players in the squad missing for half the year.

Throw in the injuries to Gal, Fifita and Carney all happened early in their respective games and it's 47 out of 99.

I defy any team in the comp to perform any better under those circumstances.

Carney's form has been horrendous when on deck, no question. But I think that is far from the major contributing factor to what is happening this year

Yeah, the excuses we've got for performing badly are pretty friggin good...as much as some of us have wanted certain players in/out of the squad, you can't reeeally fault the selections based on just doing whatever you can with what we've got. Whether it was De Gois, Holdsworth, Ayshford and Wright or Lichaa, Penani, Gagan and Stapleton wouldn't have mattered when the rest of your squad is missing...

Agree with all that but have you noticed after Origin 1 how all the media darlings have been lamenting the poor fortunes of the Storm and how they have been hit by injury and how they should get some cap relief. Not a mention of us at all! This is what makes my blood boil. We have had issues all year but no one wants to talk about our hardships. But as soon as Melbourne lose a few players it's all "oh the poor darlings."

Yeah I heard that crap on the radio last week.
3 injuries and they want cap concession.
f**k off they didn't have a cap for 5 years between 06 and 11!
We had 2/3's of our top 17 out and got no concession.

Ennis cops a lot be he would be a good pickup for you guys imo, kinda short term solution but he is still the best hooker you guys have had for years.

Edit: re the salary cap thing, did you guys need an exemption? a lot of injuries doesnt automatically mean you need one.
