That Wendell Sailor ad was a snickers ad, and Andrew Gee was in it too. There was an American version and an AFL version for that too.

Do these third party payments get excluded from the salary cap?

If the company(or company owner or another company the company owns) don't own/sponsor the club then they don't come under the cap.

The Sunsilk Roosters/Warriors ads don't as Sunsilk don't sponsor the clubs. Sunsilk approached the Roosters & Warriors players individually about appearing in the ads.

The Raiders do a whole heap of ads for the local Canberra TV market... each player is sponsored and they have an ad for almost every player.

I think this is part of their sponsorship of the club tho... rather than players picking up seperate sponsorship....

What about the classic Chicka Ferguson ads for Working Gear Fyshwick... :)

Anyone remember that ad, forget what it was for, but it had a field painter painting the Broncos old logo funnily enough on the field, and I think Wendell walking past saying "Great job mate, but who are the Boncos?"

I loved that ad.

I remember a classic with Wendell Sailor, I think it was for the Australian newspaper or Minties, one of the two, and it had a groundsman painting the old Brissy logo but he spelt it "Boncos", so wendell asks him after training, "good job mate, one question though, who are the Boncos?"

Thanks to GKD for bringing this thread back to our attention, but I must pull this up.

I remember this ad, but I'm pretty sure it was for Snickers.

ANDREW GEE walks up to him and says "That's great work mate, but who are the Boncos?"

Then they had the Snickers really satisfies thing.

Then to end the ad, Wendell is standing next to the guy and says ?It?s spelt-? (as if to correct him), then the painter cuts him off by saying ?UHHH? (as if to say shut it...)

I remember an All Blacks version, with Mehrtens pointing out the typo (IIRC it was All Backs)

The latest Vodafone ad about bowlcuts has Manu Vatuvei in it.

JWH is in one encouraging juniors to play

Lots of players are in the become a member ads

Here is an interesting point, not sure if anyone else has noticed it, but when players are in their jerseys nine of them have numbers on the back... there's even a Titans ad where they run out onto the field with a screaming crowd and no one has numbers on the jerseys... why is this
