I am not trying to say they will have the same impact, but the principles are the same. The absorption of kinetic energy by some form of barrier. In the end it will come down to the quality of the headgear.

In my view, with the recent concerns over the impact of concussions this subject should be revisited and a some research into better quality headgear undertaken. We shouldn't be seeing blokes like Liam Fulton having to retire at such a young age.

Brain injuries and concussions certainly needs a lot more research I agree with that.

Back on topic, we should rest Mansour unless he is 100 percent, losing him for an extended period would hurt us.

Because it is fairly well proven it does nothing to stop concussions. I saw that article when I did my search, there are far more saying the opposite.
I am not going to count them to decide who wins. There is plenty of research that concludes the opposite. Again, the basic laws of physics show that headgear is better than nothing.

I agree that a lot of the current models of headgear are not very good. Research in a laboratory on how significant the absorption of energy by some current models of headgear showed very limited absorption qualities. Some of them so poor as to offer virtually no protection. One of the weaknesses in the rugby union study (which said it couldn't see an improvement in concussions)in particular is that there was no control over the type of headgear and none of it was tested for its protective qualities. Unless the headgear has been tested, the study was virtually useless.

If the NRL really wants to stop Liam Fulton issues in the future, they should team up with a manufacturer and help them to develop something that is more effective.

Does anybody know why we get some our posts embedded by a hyperlink to Fiji holidays. Is this paid for sponsorship?

Agreed. Our NSW cup team is killing it and we have Nabuli or Blake that could step up. I'm not sure if Will Smith has any experience on the wing. He's played everywhere else.

Im pretty sure headgear was recently dropped as a requirement for amatuer boxing, the reasons and opinions on this are a bit varied though.

SBW is doing ramadan atm so no food all drink all day, even after the game. Gotta say that would be f**ken tough though the article said he performed really well under the same circumstances last season but fingers crossed he is a bit flat tomoz.

Good luck to them then. Hopefully Mansour plays and they haven't done their video on DWZ who could cause some big issues if they're not prepared.
