yep, it's easier to coach for half a season after the previous coach was incompetent & had lost all confidence of the entire playing group.
Can he take on the role from November in pre-season training ? Also, it's more likely that existing players will be able to help sign new players as McGregor is largely unknown to those non-Dragons players & unproven as a coach. If it comes down to a choice between the Dragons & another club there appear to be more negatives / unknowns than positives.
It needs to be a teammate at rep level ( either NSW, NZ or England ) who can really help in this area. Hopefully Widdop can assist with a top class forward who possesses the qualities of James Graham or Sam Burgess and any NRL club could build a title winning pack around.
That player's on-field contributions plus his ability to help others develop & also that would have an ongoing effect with quality players choosing to join the club. Now they just need to find one !
