yep. Total merkin. And he can't even see he has done something wrong.

It was how he and others were brought up as kids and as far he and there's are concerned it's how you bring up kids today. Their would have been a time not that long ago that what Peterson did would be considered the norm and nothing wrong with it.

Sorry pal... But thats f**king bullshit...

Here is NZ we shamefully have the worst child abuse rates in the world...

And unfortunately, it's my own community(Maori) that are the worst offenders... I was brought up in and around discipline with belts, leather horse straps, broom sticks, vacuum cleaner pipes, jug cords... Etc..

I've seen those photos... He would have known that was wrong... If he didn't, he has serious psychological issues.

If there is one thing positive to come out of this, is that people are talking about how they discipline their kids.

I have no problem with parents smacking their kids. But what Peterson did in my opinion is go too far. He did to his son what he himself received from his father. How do you break and change that cycle I do not know. Some people like Peterson believe it made him a better person.

Nope. That's the nature of the NFL in 2014. Fantasy football has grown the brand beyond anything it could have hoped to be 10 years ago.

Half NFL fans would struggle to name the starters on their divisional foes defense. It's all about skill positions because it's all about fantasy

Ha, that's got me written all over it.

I've been 'following' the NFL for 15 years now, and whilst I claim to be a Vikings fan, I really couldn't give a stuff about them. I just enjoy the sport and the professionalism that surrounds it. I have been to America three times, and found I knew more about offensive players than pretty much every American bloke I spoke to and that always tripped them out (they loved it though). Defence on the other hand...

Am I the only one feeling uncomfortable telling people how to discipline their kids?

Like I get it...what AP did was wrong and he acknowledged that...but to say he should be wiped out of game completely like some morons are saying is ridiculous.

He thought he was raising his kid the way he was raised and didn't know how to break the cycle...obviously that was his psychology.

He is seeing a Psychologist to break the cycle but I have a hard time wanting to punish him for something that he believed was right based on his upbringing and the culture that he was brought up with and currently exists in Texas.

Like with anything...if we didn't see pictures...would we be so outraged? I doubt it.

But when did he start seeing someone about it? If it took this act to do it, then shouldn't he go through that process, focus on that, and then when he is right, he can come back to the nfl and play.

I agree that seeing those pictures has changed a lot of peoples opinions. look at what happened when the Rice video came out. everyone was disappointed with the two week ban but the community was accepting it. as soon as the video landed he was gone.

being a Panthers fan I think Hardy has been very hard done by. The only reason he has been suspended is because his indecent has occurred at the same time as AP and Rice. Hardy's case is currently a he-said-she-said situation and it should have been sorted by a proper court with a jury and not by the media. IMO Hardy will be playing for someone in 2015.

any way you look at it all AP and Rice are done with their current team but they could come back to the NFL in 2-3 years. If Vick can come back after killing dogs these two can.

So you can't do your job without going through that process which could take months?

Come on.

If those photo's don't come out, if TMZ aren't involved and if the flavour of the month is to slam NFL....this wouldn't even be an issue and he'd be playing.

Not saying that is right....just what it would be.

completely agree
he over stepped the mark, no question about, no child should be disciplined in that manner, i think a big part of that is how he was raised himself, he is disciplining his child the same way he was disciplined. He's going to have to wear the consquences of that, via the law and maybe even being cut by the Vikings. But i dont think this should end his career

once the law has dealt with him, the league will impose what ever their punishment is, and i think that's that. If the Vikings cut him, they cut him, that's their call, if another team goes and picks him up, so be it, that's their call. I dont think he needs to be on a lengthy suspension or as you said, being rubbed out of the league

That being said, it's a new world in the NFL. I completely agree with the decisions not to play him. He's getting paid, so you arent taking his livelihood away, you're saying "The NFL, in this current climate, we can't take any more hits on stuff like this"

I think the league has handled this one quite well, as opposed with the Ray Rice

You know Hardy was convicted, don't you?
I mean i get that mentality if the situation was on going as it is with Ray McDonald, but Hardy was convicted. Police felt they had enough evidence to charge him, and a judge deemed that he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Im fine with him being deactivated there. He's appealling, as is his right, but right now he's guilty, if his appeal is successful, i would assume he'll be reinstated without prejudice. He's on the exempt list, so he's not missing game cheques either

Hardy was CONVICTED....he's appealing the decision and wanting a jury trial.

There are photo's and witness testimony for that case that aren't very good from things I've read. If they were to get out....
