HALFBACK Kris Keating has been released by Hull KR just one year into a three-year deal.

Keating will return to Australia after struggling to settle in East Yorkshire due to family reasons.

The 25-year-old joined the Rovers from the Canterbury Bulldogs at the start of the year and made 24 appearances scoring five tries.

Hull KR chief executive Mike Smith told the club’s website: “Kris was unsettled and wanted to return home at the end of the season.

“He didn’t figure in head coach Chris Chester’s long-term plans and an agreement has therefore been reached to allow him to go back to Australia.

“I’d like to thank Kris for all his efforts with the club this year and we wish him all the best for the future.

“We have been planning for next season with this possibility in mind and the process of bringing in a replacement for Kris for 2015 and beyond has already been started. We hope to have some news on this for our supporters in the near future.”

Early reports have linked Keating to the Cronulla Sharks, however the club are yet to confirm them.

You're talking about his behaviour from years ago compared to now, yet you're cherry picking this year's injury history when he 'only' played 20 games - as many as Nathan Peats and Ben Smith put together.

you missed the keyword i put in there, as an average, meaning yes there are probably props with faster play the balls but they are more likely to be outwrestled onto their back when they don't have momentum. even coming out of our 20 timmy can at least stay on his knees routinely and not lose time by trying to get up

Speeding fines are bad behviour now? And pissing behind a tree or in an alley way is something that every man has done at one point their life. Punching a sponsor is the only bad thing he is done.

Where as Ben Kennedy got sent home from training for turning up pissed with a team mate (drugs were also rumoured to be involved) and got in a fight at a pub in newcastle with andrew johns. I'd say watmough and kennedy's off field behaiviour is pretty similar.

Mannah's play the ball speed coming out of his own half looks ok to me. He just shouldn't be given the ball inside the opposition 20.......I go crazy every time.

Actually there was an article regarding play the ball speeds and Mannah's was the fastest among forwards in the game. Was around 12-18 months ago in Big League or RLW.

There was a DT article from mid-2012. That was over two years ago.

Mannah's play-the-ball is a lot slower than it used to be. Could be to do with teams knowing he won't pass so they get plenty of numbers in the tackle.

We sure have some depth in the backs.no one stands out for the vacant wing and centre spot

But for that centre spot will be Morgan-champion-Davis-Crooks-Falou-Toutai

And for the wing- Goodal-Nabouli-Faraimo-Lavaka
