Dugan supposedly wants out of the dragons because he doesn't think that the team will be competative next year without Morris and perhaps Merrin as well

interesting. if true then it seems Dugan knows he isn't the player Laurie Daley talks him up to be.

I hope the club isn't going for Dugan. I don't think he will offer better than hopoate does at fb, nor do I think he is a better centre than takarangi (if he's coming to parra) or champion.

hayne's departure hasn't left us with a problem in the backline. it's left us with a potential problem, and time will tell if it is a problem, with who will take the reigns as the team's chief playmaker.

people are complaining about some of the signings our club has because they aren't first string players but the reality is that most signings we have aren't on the way to all fill our top 17 and unless we get a bunch of absences at the same time, those players won't be playing first grade at the same time as each other.

hopoate, radar, champion, takarangi, ?, Norman, sandow is a pretty good 1-7.

if our forward pack improves as you would expect they would and with the expected addition of twatmough, the club isn't in as bad shape as most people believe because of hayne's gap year. and when hayne comes back in 2016 we'll be even better.

Dugan is a negative influence. Plus he and Hopoate are both too expensive for centre, meaning whichever one doesn't play fullback is a waste of money.

I really don't think Dugan is a better replacement for hayne than hopoate will be.

hopoate's best position is fullback. he only played centre because of the rugby nospam49 of nature we had there previously. and like I said ^^^^^ somewhere, Dugan isn't a better centre than champion or takarangi. unless we have the roosters and dogs versions of the salary cap, the economics of signing Dugan don't make sense.

We paid Hopoate too much for centre but we paid him just the right amount for fullback. Now with Hayne gone Hopoate is no longer overpaid.

There are now no wrongs. But if we sign Dugan or any expensive fullback or centre (e.g. Folau/Falou) then we will go back to one wrong, which is exactly the problem Hayne's exit has fixed.

If hayne did the right thing and told us earlier, I would have been chasing the Sharks junior Holmes ( I think that's his name) - he is going to be a gun.

Pretty sure the Sharks re-signed him for another couple of years already.
They won't be letting him go.....then again I didn't think they were dumb enough to let Lichaa go either.

Holmes is signed until the end of 2017. They'll probably be phasing out Gordon soon so there's no way they'll let him go. Only reason they let Lichaa go was because the Dogs drastically outbid them, I think they went 250k-300k for a hooker who at the time had not played a first grade game. I think there's also talks to eventually turn Nu Brown into a hooker as well, who's much more talented than Lichaa.
