Of we paid takairangi 300 we should be replacing the entire football staff.

He couldn't get a run anywhere else pou.

If you could get takairangi for 300 and faoso for 2000 or hayne for 600 we are living in some sort of parralell universe
300K for Takarangi but Hayne was overpaid and we couldn't put a team around him

Whatever we're paying them it will only help the club in the long term. By buying Wicks, and Fa'aoso means that we can keep Pauli in NSW cup for the year so he can work on his fitness and he doesn't have the pressure of stepping up straight up into first grade. But if he does step up into first grade straight away if his confidence/form drops then we have the experience to bring in someone so he can go back to NSW cup and work on that rather than keeping him in first grade and get frustrated.

If we paid over 200 for champion like Pou suggests than clubs going backwards.

No we're not because we only signed him for a year. The club knew they have money to spend so they spent it on inflated one year contracts in an effort to bring in some leadership and experience. Beau Champion offers that, as do most of our new signings. Next year six of our eight oldest players will be brand new signings.

And besides Watmough, it won't matter if any of them get injured because there are plenty of other options in the squad. It's about diversifying our risk.

Loko was on a reported 300.We are still paying the dogs something next year.So who would you rather? both are injury prone-One is younger and a potential star and game breaker-the other is at best a solid first grader.

I believe Loko was on $300k because he has huge potential and there would have been plenty of interest. This despite him being a defensive liability, and his reported (in the media with quotes from the player and the club) poor attitude.

I do believe most these signings where cause club knew there desperate and have a point to prove. And cheap!

We were certainly desperate but no way were they cheap. We had money to spend and every merkin knew it. And no player wants a one year contract. They want extra money to compensate.

Ok pou out of all the players we signed how many do you predict will play 20+ first grade games and at who's expense(meaning who spot do they take)

Watmough, Fa'aoso, Takirangi and Champion will probably all play 20+ games (or at least will start in round one and then get injured later on), plus maybe Robonson.

As for whose spot they take, in the pre-season not everybody has a 'spot', including a few blokes who finished the previous season in the top 17.

As for who is top 17 and who isn't, I posted on that yesterday.

I had nine definites, of which Watmough and Takairangi were the only ones. But for the other eight spots in the top 17 I had another five probable (blokes more likely to play than not), and Champion and Fa'aoso were part of that group.

Than estimate what they are on for me please.

That's ok. We were about to re-sign Hayne for $1.5M
Were we??? And how much of that was coming out of the cap??? I'm sure it would be much easier to find 3rd party deals for the best player in the game compared to a guy who let go by two clubs in a month. And that was for 2016, with the cap going up that must mean takarangi is worth 500 minimum???

He wanted three years and accepted only one. That means we paid well. We could certainly afford it.

He was one of the Titans' best players this year. He wasn't kicked out, he left because they couldn't match the Tigers' offer.

Maybe he wanted to go back to Sydney...

We wouldnt have paid 300 for Tagairangi.. Only Pou would be crazy enough to pay that..

You merkins know the average salary next year is $262k don't you? If he's agreed to only one year then we know Takairangi's on overs.

Are takarangi and champion both right side centers? Who will play on the left? Not Morgan surely

How many Titans games did you actually watch?? I watched them all and thought he was below bog average all year, slow, lazy and dumb. Not even up to Brett Finch standard imo. Believe Henry did tell him to look elsewhere.

Champion is a huge risk, as are Wicks and Fa'aoso (sic) and as for the rest, meh, less said the better.

Apart from Whatmough and possibly Robinson I seriously doubt any new signings will feature in top grade much and if they do I think we are fu*ked.
