Of course it f**king can. It's not like he's a Segeyaro/Luke type hooker making a dozen runs a game. Peats would be lucky to run the ball every ten minutes.
The fact Peats got injured in his first year as an 80 minute hooker is almost certainly just coincidence. It's as unfounded as saying Peats (or Hopoate or Norman or Gower) pushed Jarryd Hayne out of the club. Try not to jump to conclusions regarding cause and effect.
If Peats can't play 80 minutes at hooker every week then we're paying too much and need to replace him with a hooker who can. Because carrying another dummy half on the bench is a massive waste of a spot.
It's just my opinion based on observations and my experiences.
When I started playing, I was a Moimoi-style prop, and six games into the season, my coach moved me into the second row to cover for injuries.
Playing a different position that required more lateral movement and agility than I had contributed to my injury - but I still believe that the biggest contributing factor in my fractured neck was the fact I was thrust into a position of having to play big minutes with little prior experience, and the resulting fatigue helped a nasty accident occur.
There is no doubt that Peats will be better in 2015 for his 2014, but we have some quality back-up hookers, and given Peats' importance to the side, I personally feel we could employ a two-hooker rotation.
But that is my opinion.
Also, my coach had a face bigger than Jarryd Hayne's salary...
