And Paulo is a rubbish defender.

DeGois is a perfectly fine tackler. Maybe not the best wrestler but we need to actually make tackles before we wrestle anyway. We didn't this year

Yes but we have a bloke called watmough who might take a tiny bit of sefs game time helping the go forward problems.

You will find that paulos tackles and missed tackle stats are similar to de gois. I agree he is a crap defender but his stats show that he only missed around 2 a game. It is his weak initial contact and wrestle that are the problem. Same as de gois.

Disagree slightly...Paulo is a good tackler but he reads like a centre and can be run over. He's a poor defender because of this. DeGois reads very well and is a solid tackler, particularly as a hooker. Peats is an excellent defender obviously.

Peats is an 80m player and doesnt need a rest, what ever a fresh Issac can do peats can do it just as well after playing 40mins. If we were ever going to use a second hooker, I reckon you would want some one with a bit more attacking fair then Issac.

I would rather use Pauli for twenty mins then having a second hooker.

We could always chuck Edwards into dummy half if Peats desperately needs a break for 10-15 minutes. But instead of using a interchange more usefully we could get Peats to chill for a set in attack and let someone else get into dummy half for 4 tackles.

If we don't go with DeGois, Taikarangi is the perfect bench utility. Can play centre, lock, back row, halves.

I still think Crooks is the best attacking centre at the club.

We need the defence, they are two of our better defenders in the team.
And Peats has shown he can handle lock well throughout the past couple of seasons as well.
So who will make the metres??? Playing Peats at Lock when you have Watmough in the side makes no sense at all. Especially when we have so much depth in the back row this year.

I'm not saying for the whole game. I'm saying for a 20-25 minute spell.

What does de gois offer that peats does not?

And if that forces peats to the back row, what does peats offer us that watmough, edwards, gower et. al does not?
