Basketball in Australia is a basketcase. The sport needs a shakeup like soccer had with the A League. What structure and teams/areas should be included in a new league?

It had a recent shakeup just like soccer, was even wider ranging iirc. It's just not as big as soccer so there's only so much it can do.

Problem is, they didn't really change anything. We still have the same branding, same lack of coverage, same cash issues and same problems with locations of teams.

A True shakeup would change a lot more than who runs the league (NBL running itself as opposed to being under Basketball Australia), it would bring in fresh blood to franchises, move things around and make people take notice.

What's being done to entice kids to play the game at a young age and stick with it?

Nobody wants to watch a bunch of nuffies when they can watch the best in the world via NBA League Pass.

They did change the branding unless you mean they should've changed the comp names? I only follow the game remotely because I have an ex who played in the WNBL but I thought there was talk of the NBL being run separately from BA too.

Can't really do much about new franchises when the support isn't there and funding is always going to be an issue when geniuss like Lundy and that ACT sports minister prick give millions to GWS at the expense of local BBall/soccer teams and mouth-breathing morons like Abbott and Hockey force cuts on the ABC.

Things like NBL.tv are great and innovative ways to increase coverage but again, if the interest isn't there to begin with...

Nbl only came under ba because they were broke. Ba propped them up for a few years, then let them run themselves again.
