Do you think Morgan or Champion would be better?

Hoppa would cost 3 x as much -Could use the extra 400k to spend elsewhere mate that would improve the team more.
I wouldn't want to pay any centre 600k unless Morris-Hodges and that would be about it. I think centre now is less important than wing.Just my opinion thou.
If fit champion will be better than what hoppa did last year. Morgan would be on par.And Takarangai will be step up IMO.

Sure it was his first year back-He showed he has skill and if he can step up id pay him big $$ at fullback. If he was to move back to centre thou I wouldn't offer him too much.

id learn to do a backflip if we sign foran. he is a future immortal IMHO.

Partially agree.

I believe he will be the best half in our game over the next decade, but this future immortal business is thrown around a lot these days. There are only 8 immortals over the last 100 years, yet we have 4-5 "future immortals" currently playing the game. These guys wont get a look in for another 50 years, by then they will be forgotten about and a current gen player named immortal (Joey John's ring bells)...

Your thinking is too rigid, Hindy 111. But you're not alone there. Who cares if we pay $600K for a centre and less for a fullback - as long as the team goes well. The idea of the 'spine' is just one model. It's not the gospel.

True sometimes.... The one thing with Hoppa is his attitude is great.
If FOran signs where does that leave sandow-matterson-Norman

Sandow won't be re-signed. Norman would move across to the right half, or possible Foran may move there. Then in 2016 we'd probably see a battle between Norman and Matterson for the other starting spot.

From what I've seen Matterson is not a forward, nor is he a middle half. He passing skills are too good for it and his running game in the middle wouldn't open up his passing game to be as effective.

True but there was a stage where guys like fitler -dymock where great locks. They where more balls players than running forwards.
Than for a while locks where the tackling machines.....Now there just out and out second rowers.

Dymock was a rare breed, not too many ball playing locks like him around

Seffa does the same thing but not really as effective

If foran isn't signed could we see norman/matterson 2016? OR WOULD SANDOW become priority if we don't get Foran.

Seffa is a funny one.I still think in the right side he could be magic. He could also turn to mud any day now. With a dominant forward pack Speh may get his last chance to prove himself in first grade. He needs to find the balance of running and passing. His running game isn't too bad at all.

So they pack into the second-row of the scrum? I thought the point of a lock is to pack into the back of the scrum? Locks can be whatever you want them to be. They can be a middle half like Sef Paulo was this year, there's locks like James Graham who can do a bit of everything, and then there's prop-like locks like Sam Burgess that can play 80 minutes but have a output.
