After reading this mornings papers and the player selection predictions by the so called pundits - the Dragons may have up to (8) players in rep teams commencing from Anzac Day tests to City v Country clashes...

Dugan
Nightingale (Kiwi Team)
Marshall (Kiwi team)
Thompson (Country)
Merrin (Country)
Frizzell
Rein (Country)
Mathews (Country)

Injuries are always a risk but heres hoping this wont hinder our teams momentum - hence to say our depth will be tested and need as many of our back up players ready to to fill in...Can we sustain a premiership run if we sustain more than 2-3 key injuries?

I believe we could be ok in the forwards especially if teh Dave Shillington deal happens over the next 7 days

Denote: Shillington is on $320k a year at raiders but Dragons can't pay more than $100k this year and Raiders won't contribute the balance rumors of a Dan Hunt swap who is on similar contract has merit..

There are numerous games these days over the rep weekend, ( Aus v NZ, Samoa v Tonga, Fiji v PNG, Junior Kangaroos v Junior Kiwis & City v Country ) but more than a week to recover as Dragons play Rabbitohs on MNF

Dugan - yep, Kangaroos or Country

Nightingale (Kiwi Team) - yep, if fit

Marshall (Kiwi team) - no way, surely they'll stick with Foran & Johnson in the halves

Thompson (Country) - yep

Merrin (Country) - yep

Frizzell - what's his status after playing for Wales ?

Rein (Country) - yep

Ah Mau will be in the Samoa team & Peter Mata'utia might be too

Aitken - Junior Kangaroos ( we might have others from the club, but not from the NRL top 17 )

DeBelin might be a chance for City or Country, not sure which one he's eligible for ( rules these days are a bit of joke ). He'd be in front of Matthews for Country, surely one good game wouldn't push him that far ( unless there are a stack of withdrawals - there will be quite a few though )

Being pedantic, the test is an Anzac test, not Anzac Day

It's been proven that mickeylane has a tendency to just make things up. We will not be signing David Shillington in 2015.

Marshall is unlikely to play in the Kiwi team unless Foran and Johnson are injured. Nightingale will probably be selected if he recovers from injury in time.

Thompson, Frizzell, Rein and Mathews are possibility for being selected for City/Country.

I don't think we will be impacted much at all by the Test, City v Country or State of Origin. We have byes in Rd.11 and 14 before SOO 1 and 2. Our lack of a true superstar player is actually a positive because it minimises the impact of rep games.

As for Shillington, why would we clog up more of our limited cap space on a has been who isnt even playing first grade and just busted his hand?

I suspect that Nightie might be out longer than two weeks or will have on going problems with his foot this season. Plantar faciitis problems are not easily fixed. Hope I'm wrong.
