The only Blues I felt justified their inclusion tonight were:

- Aaron Woods (Kept trying until the bitter end)
- David Klemmer (Mad bastard. Always looked like he might bend the line)
- TheDUGAN (Isn't quite Hayne, but did his bloody best)

I thought Tamou and Scott were good in patches, but that's about the extent of it. How a team full of forwards managed to not only get outmuscled when defending but also couldn't seem to make more than 30-40 metres a set is beyond me.

Mitchell Pearce's kicking game (sorry, his long bomb game) was useless, Hodkinson never got the ball when his field goal skills could have been utilised, and Farah gave pretty rubbish service throughout.

I didn't even know Merrin or Jackson were playing, Jennings never saw the ball, and I didn't think Hopoate should ever have been in there to start with.

Of course, as we only lost by 1, Laurie will Rick Stone it and name an unchanged 17 barring the return of Paul Gallen or Greg Bird.

Are those NRL.com ratings for real?

7s for Hodkinson and Piss, but a measly 6 for Klemmer? f**k off.

Merrin got about 10 minutes. Daley clearly doesn't like him. Why pick him at all if they're not going to give him a proper run? Get Blake Austin in there instead.

Josh Morris has shut down Inglis for years, did it again. Without him we probably lose by three tries

yeh, I like that

he may be young and inconsistent but he's gotta be better than Maloney, he found the turf once

Morris and Dugan are the only NSW backs who deserve to keep a spot. The rest were rubbish.

given the common club link these two share, quite clearly if NSW are to have a chance they must pick a backline of all ex-dragons players..

if you want success, you need to have it bred into you at the dragons.

my recommendation:

1. dugan
2. goodwin
3. leulia
4. morris, j
6. soward
7. williams

i don't care where the pack gets picked from. that's your origin winning backline right there.

I forget to mention Morris, probably because he made Inglis invisible and therefore rarely had to be seen.

Agree. Picking a marathon forward who needs to play 60+ to make the impact he does at club level and asking him to run a sprint is pointless.

Merrin should have taken Hoffman of Scott's position.

Agree.

Not sure how Tupou and Hopoate got their spots to begin with. Neither of them has the form or history to have warranted inclusion.

If they bring back B Morris he can replace Tupou (leave Dugs at fullback) and gee's any other centre will do.

you think there could possibly be a valid reason that is stopping the formerly better morris from being selected??

Hopoate definitely not. There on prior record which is irrelevant right now. Tupou I get. Has played decent this year and partnered with Jennings makes sense.

How Johnston didn't get picked despite playing for Aus is ludicrous.
