The only expensive import in Super League who is a bigger crock than Todd Carney is Kevin "Nobby" Locke. That poor bugger has been mostly off the pitch injured for most of a year now, after Salford foolishly paid big money to take him off the hands of the NZ Warriors. Salford's deranged boss Marwan Koukash (who wants to buy the Gold Coast Titans) decided not to pay Locke his due wages, so Locke has gone to court against the club, while the owner countersues. Locke then resigned from Salford and signed for a desperate Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, who are under the coaching control of Brian Smith. But Locke had hardly played more than a few games for Wakefield when he suffered another serious injury which is now keeping him off the field for the rest of the season.

Carney may return to the Catalans team before the season ends. They desperately need his talents for their away games, if he can stay uninjured.

The NRL wouldn't approve his contract IMO. Not sure any club would want to take the gamble on an injury prone half who can't go long without getting on the piss and doing something stupid. High risk. Low chance at paying off. Probably wouldn't come cheap either.

Although I would hope he sorts his shit out if he gets another chance. He's an idiot. But no worse than a lot of guys running around. Atleast he doesn't bash women.
