The greatest coach of all time is Jack Gibson. His status as such is recognized by the NRL in various prizes it offers.

The second best coach should come from a cluster headed by Wayne Bennett, and consisting also of Craig Bellamy, Trent Robinson, Michael McGuire, Des Hasler, Phil Gould, Ricky Stuart, Paul Green, Ken Kearney, Malcolm Reilly, Shaun Wane, and Brian McDermott.

To all the dedicated fans of rugby league I apologize for not including Warren ("You black merkin") Ryan, who had some success with Canterbury Bankstown, and elsewhere.

But Warren Ryan can be included in the "Another coach" voting option.

Otherwise this selection of choices is close to perfect.

Trent Robinson, like Ricky Stuart, won an NRL Grand Final in his first year as an NRL coach. This followed on from Trent's successful tenure at the powerful Catalans Dragons club.

Brian Smith would surely feature in the Most Unsuccessful Coach thread.

As I say, you can wait until Monday morning, after the 2015 Grand Final result is established, before casting your vote.

League has been around for 110+ years. If Stuart, McGuire, Green, Robinson and Wane are among the top coaches after limited time and success in the game the quality of coaches over the 110+ years has been extremely shite.
