There is no need to have two hookers in the 17 because we don't need 80 minutes of attacking hookers playing in a game. Giving our 9 a 10 minute break in a game is all that's required. We should have 4 forwards (with size - you know what I mean) on the bench, one who is a utility. The bench must all be able to defend well with at least two of them being good attackers/off loaders/etc. In this way we have much more stability and besides a batch of seriously injured players coming off, we can handle whatever transpires.

The thing is is that peats move into an middle forward role and allows the addition of some spark at the ruck. Peats will be that defensive forward

He can defend but bigger forwards eventually roll through him. We need bigger forwards out there while Peats has a rest.

If the rumor is true that Manly are willing to let Brenton Lawrence go so as to fit Dillon Walker in then I would hope that coach tries really hard to find a place for him at Parra, even if it means letting go a forward like KE or the like who promise so much but deliver very inconsistently.

Lawrence is way better then most of our forwards and is exactly what Watmough should be for probably less then half the price. He is exactly the type of player you want in grand finals.

Agree Ram, he had an injury plagued 2015, but was enormous in 2014. Aggressive, and would be great foil alongside Paulo in the front row.

Hiku is also a name being thrown around too, and no doubt he'd be expensive but less than Walker

My only concern at this stage of the game in chasing after Hiku is that if Hayne were to be available within the next 6 months or so, I wouldn't want to have spent vital cap money. Lawrence on the other hand is a player that you try to find a spot for no matter what. We don't have that many 100% players in our squad and it would be relatively easy to offload a forward or two that other clubs would find attractive but we have way to many of.

You know the type I mean.

Well we might be needing a front rower soon enough.

BTW - I've been out of the country for a couple of weeks, what's been happening on the Hoplessoate front? Has someone else signed the muppet yet?

We're back in court with Floppa on Tuesday.

Twitter merkins reckon he's training with the Dogs.

Lawrence's back is shot. While I am all for taking some risks with signings I think this particular pickup would be a huge liability.

Oh, I didn't know. Makes sense now why the Eagles would be willing to let someone like him go.

Fair enough, I wouldn't bother then.

Anywhere near his prime I would have vouched for him as he was a good, athletic prop that would add something to most packs.
