Potentially we are solid. But Gordon-Taka-Gutherson seem injury prone. If any player goes down we look thin.

Add falou-Moss-French-Fuimanno to list of maybes. I reckon all of them are as good as who you have put at no - 5.

French won't be pushed into NRL this year unless there are injuries, he needs to grow and the get some practice playing against men (NSW Cup).

Falou and Fuimanno are centres and I think Gutherson has been promised a crack there first.

Gordon being injury prone is a misnomer - he hasn't had an injury since 2012 when at Penrith. Played 69 games in 3 years at Cronulla.

If Roberts goes to Brisbane then we could look at Copley who I reckon will become available.

Yeah Morgan in ur starting 17 would be fantastic Hindy, you really are a Penrith fan.

The mighty Duke paying overs for a back when their pack is still shit house.

RGC - Would be in top 3 young props in game.

Merrin - State of origin player - Current

Cartwright - Best talent and ball playing forward ive seen coming thru in a while.

Elijah Taylor - Id swap watmough or Scott for this guy

Than you have Tyrone peachey and Mckendry who are I guess ok without being great.

Far from a rubbish pack - They have also signed Grevshmul and have a young guy called fisher Harris who might surprise a few.....

Grevshmul is signed from 2017, still with Souths next year. Penrith look good in the back row but lack depth / some quality in the prop department.

We still look alright next year IMO.

1. Gordon
2. Semi
3. Taka
4. Gutherson
5. Buretta/Schute/Moss/Tuha

The issue is inexperience on the right hand side.

True that but at the very least, Foran and Scott make for one of the better half and backrower combos you can get on a right edge to guide an inexperienced 3/4 pairing around.

I don't think James Roberts has enough play making ability to make it as a modern day fullback. He would be a risky buy. I would up my offer to Hiku or at least extend it for 3 years.

They do have $hit halves thou - Maybe worse in the comp.

Depends on whether Moylan can make a fist of it in the halves I guess. You'd think DWZ has shown enough to give them confidence he can make the fullback spot his own... Te Maire Martin might yet end up in the halves with Moylan by the end of season 2016, who knows? Be surprised if both Soward and Wallace see the season out to be honest, think at least one of them might be moved on before seasons end. We all know Wallace and Griffin had a bit of a 'strained' relationship when Wallace left the Boncos...

Yep we don't need to pay stupid money for a back, yeah it would be nice to get another quality back but let the desperate sides get into a bidding war. We can just sit back and wait, plus Penrith / Broncos do have some fringe backs which could be looking for better opportunities soon.

Also we do have options, it is quite possible Gutherson could really kick on this year and prove to be the real deal. While Falou has potential and could have a break out year ( yeah I know, may not happen but is possible).

And really don't think Morgan is that terrible, I would rather have him then paying overs to match other clubs to sign Hiku - he aren't worth $500k a year.

Agree with this.

It won't be a disaster if we miss out and these blokes and have a bit of cap space left. Worse comes to worse it helps us front load any contract extensions we choose to make over the next 6 months.

Roberts is a great player, but a big off field risk for a player on that coin.

Unfortunately though, having this type of perspective is often seen as being an "apologist for all the clubs failures" by others who blow up about the club at the drop of a hat.

I call it a sensible middle ground.

RCG top 3 young props in the game lol

Napa.

Just off the top of my head, penriths pack is average besides Cartwright and Merrin. Hindy's Penrith bias shining brightly again.

So now you have gone no team from double figures to no team paying over 11.That squeezes in 2 more teams in Manly and Souths lol...
And your ruling out Penrith-Storm-Sharks-Dogs and most important PARRA.

I will go into this season with some belief we and Penrith can take the title.Maybe even play out the grand final.
I reckon Canberra and saints are vey slim chances but still a chance.
If parra beat Brisbane rnd one there odds will come in from 21-1 into about 16-1....That's how quickly they move.

Id say any team who are 50-1 and over ( 3 teams) have no chance. But hey parra almost did it.

What are the Dogs paying? Last time I looked they were at $11. Surely losing Lafai and signing Hopoate they haven't drifted in the market.

Most of the teams you're referring to as "Premiership Contenders" are just outside Top 8 chances at best.

I think there are 14 teams that are Top 8 chances, but 8 of those won't be Premiership Contenders when it matters.

Hiku to Penrith is interesting if it turns out. Surely they will have to offload someone.

Even if Moylan moves into the halves, DWZ will want to play Fullback too. How long will he stick around if they plan to stick Hiku at Fullback?

If they put Hiku in the Centres, where does that leave Dean Whare??

With a new coach on board and Gus trying to rebuild the team within a year, anyone could be shafted...

The Jennings boys, Waqa Blake and maybe even Isaah Yeo could be free to go, though Yeo might now be seen more a backrow option given all the outside backs they have on their books... The question is - Are any of these blokes any better than the likes of Vai Toutai, Folau and the other backups we have on our books already?

Yep extend it to 3 years with a 20% increase in the 3rd year to play with his Mates.
