You know the answer to that.

In the highlights and comments on radio.

They said Hunt is inexperienced and came in too much.

Just listen to Matrix, he is being realistic.

Ok, may seem like a werid question, but what is your opinion on mitchell pearce as a player?

hunt was ok.

oldfield was moved around a lot. i think he will be better when he stays on the wing in the proper form of the game, although i agree that he didn't go as well as i thought he might go in the nines

Cody didn't take control.

Cam was pretty good.

Cook was good

Bryson went well

Sutto was solid

Don't know why you're asking.

But here goes:

Very very good club player. Is important to the Roosters chances.

Not good at rep level though.

See above alien, both.

Goodwin will be there Round 1.

Him and Auva'a will continue building their combo on the left.

Madge will be happy with Goodwin. He's been consistent and solid for the 9s.

i know goodwin tries his best and is pretty good, but i just like my wingers a bit quicker than goodwin.

So with our tournament over these are my player ratings. It's 9s so i don't think we can put much into the performances, the trials will give us a better picture. I've divided the players into 3 groups. Good- obviously they were good average- done some good things mixed in with some not so good things. Maybe had one good game mixed with a dodgy game. Meh- not going to crucify guys for not performing at the 9s, but these guys performances can be summed up as meh

Good
1. McInnes- great defence, gets overlooked but he is dominated in tackles and wins the arm wrestle, was dangerous in attack.
2. Cook- only just behind mcinnes, he has a better running game, but his defence is not as strong as cam. Penalties in the last game was costly. But overall he and cam were easily our best players
3. Clark- easily our best forward, quite in our last game but was cleaning up in defence and doing the hard work in attack

Average
4. Olive- didn't get much time, but took full advantage of his limited time
5. Sutton- not good in the 2nd game, but was a calming influence in the other games
6. Hunt- made mistakes, but still showed some nice work when given an opportunity
7. Turner- got through his work with minimum fuss
8. Auva'a- mistakes mixed in with dangerous attack
9. Carter- went ok in limited chance
10. Goodwin- good mixed in with the bad, the usual goodwin performance. A one on one miss on the line in the 2nd game was costly
11. Walker- was quite, but wasn't the disaster some are making out. Had patched of good work, which can be expected to in an inconsistent game like the 9s
12. Musgrove- went ok with limited opportunities

The meh
13. Tom Burgess- a big worry the way he was dominated in tackles and took an eternity to play the ball, overlap killer was a shocker.
14. Oldfield- didn't look like he wanted to be there.

The others
I'm not sure if we used all our players. If any other players played they were completely anonymous.

I forgot AJ. Unfortunately he got injured very early, so couldn't judge him overall

Gosiewski played but was meh.

We did not use Whitelaw or Murphy.

My opinion could change of Hunt in the Charity Shield. He went ok in the nines.

I'll be watching Oldfield too.

Because if you only see highlights, and listen to the 'experts' comments on pearce you'd think he the equal to thurston and cronk, he is talked up as an elite player. But when you see him play you'll see he is a good halfback but also that he has limited abilities.
That's why when you pass opinion on players you have to actually watch them, see how they perform with your own eyes, keep an eye out for the little details. Highlights, commentary opinions and stats just don't cut it when judging players, especially if you keep pulling up other posters on their opinions on players when they've actually watched the games

I want guys in the team who give their all.

Goodwin may be centre, don't rule that out yet.

I think though:

4. Auva'a
5. Goodwin

Whatever. Silly smart arse comment re Pearce. Obviously I've seen a lot of Pearce.

I'm just sick of you bagging out Goodwin.

If you don't like my opinions that doesn't bother me. I'll keep giving my thoughts too.

I am going to the Charuty Shield.

i'm not ruling it out, but he'll probably have to play better than hunt in the 2 trial games

Fair enough alien.

I don't think Gray is injured.

His knee is an ongoing issue though.

Come Round 1 it'll be funny when Goodwin is in:p:p:p:p

I'm confident Madge will pick him.

I bag out goodwin. But at least it's my opinion. He is the only player i bag out
You bag out a whole heap of players, just this weekend you've bagged auva'a, walker, Hunt mcinnes, clark etc, but the thing is, you haven't even seen them play. You are basing all your opinions on what matt king says on the radio.

at least only playing 3 games in the nines, it means less chance of injury (trying to see good in bad :) )

Can't place too much importance on 9s.

Some players would be playing it for the first time.eg Walker!!???

You can't pick a 13 a side team on how players perform in this arena!!

It's a bit like picking a cricketer for a Test Match on his performance in T20!!

I like Auva'a. Getting rid of the cobwebs is important. Auva'a needs to improve ball security and defence and I'm confident he will. Some of what Auva'a did wasn't first grade standard. But as I said he's getting it out of his system.

I definitely have Auva'a in the 4 jersey even though Bryson had a better tournament. Auva'a is usually better than Goodwin.

I've said Hunt missed tackles and was ordinary defensively overall. Give Hunt experience at Norths and he will be good with hard work. I hope Hunt goes well in the Charity Shield. Hunt knows if he improves his defence he can make it into our side.

Cody, well many spoke him up everyday. I've been disappointed with him. He is in my round 1 side though. I'll be watching him closely at the Charity Shield. At this stage Keary and Reynolds are a fair way ahead of Cody.

McInnes made a bad play or 2 but I've praised him too. He really was very good against Parra.
McInnes is starting at 9 in my side for round 1 too. Cook is not far behind Cam and Cam will have to keep performing well.

As for Clarky he's one of my favourites. He was very good this tournament. Very good and honest in defence and solid with hit ups. Clark gives his all like Bryson. They are both in my round 1 side. I have Clark at lock for the Charity Shield too.

Amen doyen!
And to take the cricketing analogy one step further, you can't judge a players defence in the 9s as being how he'll defend in the 13 aside game. Thats like judge a test bowler on his 20/20 averages
