Just having a argument with my mate who is a cowboy supporter. Which was better dragons 2010 or Cowboys 2015. And I really want honesty!

Defence will always normally beat out an attacking side so I would say Saints of 2010 over 2015 Cowboys. Cowboys were also nowhere near as dominant as we were in 2010 where we took out both the minor and major premiership.

I'm probably being biased in my view but the way I see it is we were super consistent the whole season we finished first with the most wins and least loses (obviously) of any other team. Cowboys on the other hand started the season 0-3 (one of which was a 24 point drubbing at the hands of the Roosters)

Saints won all of their finals games, Cowboys lost the first one and whilst the GF was definitely much more exciting to watch they only equalled the game with literally seconds left on the clock and had of Ben Hunt not dropped the ball the game could have gone either way, or just taken the Cowboys longer to win, our GF win however was wrapped up with 17 minutes left to go.

During the season I think a lot of people had accepted the fact we were destined to win it that year I mean really who was even close to being in our league? Panthers? Nup only scored tries off bombs and were eliminated in straight sets from the semis, Roosters? Probably the luckiest semi finals team I can ever recall in recent memory, just beat the Tigs, beat an injury depleted panthers and then played Gold Coast who saved their absolute worst performance of the season against them. I think the only real threat were the Tigers and they were not even that great that year at least IMO.
No-one had a sure pick last season (cough except for me) people were convinced it was the Roosters, then the Broncos and even the Storm were all 'certainties' of winning it that year.

We didn't lose our spot on top of the table from round 5! Cowboys never even got to taste it.

We were heavy favourites, they were the underdogs.

Our biggest loss of the season was by 18 points 18 FREAKIN' POINTS! That's incredible! They lost by 18+ points on 3 occasions.

So when you talk to your friend bring up some of these statistics and I would like to hear his response let's face it our team was better in 2010 and our team has been the best in the past, is the best at present and will always be the best in the future! Obvious favourtsim from my end but hell deal with it!

Go You Mighty Saints!

Gee that would be a cracking top 6. Add Dragons 2016 and Dragons 2017 and it would be a cracking top 8 :D.

2010 Saints better than the 2015 Cowboys. Won the minor premiership and the premiership with the greatest point differential.

While I am biased and think that was the best win, the 2013 Roosters were probably a more dominant side, though a 32-8 grand final win is about as dominant as it gets bar the 40-0 Manly vs Storm grand final

IMO Cowboys 2015 were on par with Tigers 2010. Tigers 2010 were a formidable outfit and Benji was in career best form culminating in winning the Golden Boot. But we were just that much better.

The 2010 Dragons were just a really tough, gritty team who punched well above their weight and waited for the opposition to run out of steam before they rolled over the top of them in the second half. Not many teams I can think of can execute a game plan like that consistently over a whole season. If anyone was going to get them in 2010 it was the Tigers and thankfully the guys saved their best game of the year for that prelim final.
The Roosters 2013 were probably the most dominant team over the last decade or so barring the salary cap cheating Storm teams.
Manly 2011 - lucky Lockyer kicked that field goal against us in the semis.
Cowboys all credit to them - not the best side last year but Thurston literally took that game out of the hands of Brisbane by force of will. Cowboys reminded me of the Penrith side in the 2000's who won the comp - underdogs who took the chance with both hands and good luck to them.

For me the difference between The dragons 2010 team to the Cowboys team 2015, is Thurston so if you are asking me who I think would have won if played I have to say with regret the Cowboys.....

No competition, Dragons 2010 would wear down Cowboys 2015.

But Roosters 2013 is a different proposition. They were pretty dominant for 3 seasons, it would certainly be tough to beat them.

Roosters 2013. Storm 2012 may have found a defensive game plan to dismantle the Roosters strike power, but I can't see them cracking the defense as well.

Dragons 2011 would have beaten Manly 2011 if we'd gotten over Broncos. Souths 2014 was won on emotion, but the emotion of 2010 May have combatted that. Storm 2012 weren't going to be beaten that year, but that doesn't mean they were the strongest of the lot.

In order:
Roosters 2013
Dragons 2010
Storm 2012
Souths 2014
Cowboys 2015
Manly 2011

In 6 hales of footy (2 finals games and the GF) Saints kept teams for 4 of those to nil. Tigers and Roostes scored tries in the first half of both games and were kept scoreless the 2nd half. Saints won 1st game against Manly 28 nil from memory.

Not many teams can boast that record and it will be one that I think will stay for a while. Just shows how good Saints were in 2010.....

Thanks for the feed back . Dragons 2010 was a great team coached by a legend. I think we would have beaten the roosters 13. Everyone said we couldn't win it with Ben Hornby at half back. I believe the team was well coached it didn't have the best players but it was a team that really believed there coach. I also think dean young had lots to do with the team as in coaching while on the field. The pass to nightingale in the semi against the Tigers was a smart play and not many players would pull it off.straight after that player mr dean young points to his head ad says use your brains boy. Dragons 2010 is the best team in the last 20 years. It was a well balanced squad with very predicable plays but unstoppable plays. Darius Boyd played his roll to perfection passing or kicking behind the defence. Go the red V

Saints were the benchmark in 2010 and mid way 2011 till origin hit. Hence why I hate Origin. Should be played at the end of the year.

Then 2012 - 2014 they were the laughing stock. Thanks Pricey. Only 1 person can achieve such an embarrassing achievement.

This is a really interesting argument. Our incredibly defence back then against the Cowboys' versatile, relentless attack. To be fair to Nth Qld, I don't think they're even at their peak yet. Would be a hell of a game, ditto with that 2012 Melbourne team, they defended incredibly well too.
