NRL Streak Record for legally assembled team. Well done.

Last nights victory of 14 in a row gives us the longest winning streak in a single season since the NRL was formed in 1998 for a team inside the cap.

Yes, Melbourne won 15 in a row in 2012/13 but that was over 2 years with 2 squads.

Yes, the Bulldogs won 17 in a row but they were over the Salary Cap so that record is severely blemished.

Without sounding arrogant it is hard to see the Knights beating us so we look set to go 15 in a row. Unbelievable times.

The all time record is 19 in a row for the undefeated Chooks of 1975. In a nice piece of serendipity if we manage to remain unbeaten the game to break the record will be against the Roosters. A long way to go to get that one yet but well done to the club and the players, I sure as hell didn't think we were capable of this.

I'd love to snatch the record off the Chooks. It'll be a tough ask with lots of difficult questions along the way.

Then, if we "have to have a loss" we can get beat in round 26 against the Storm.

Also, note Toovey on NRL 360: "We only lost 3 games all year and one of them was the grand final".

Absolutely, great effort. Just keep winning baby, screw this got to lose one theory.

Apart from the weird kicks on the 3rd and 4th last night, we seem to be running it on the last a hell of a lot. Seems like a smart play with the 7 tackles if the kick goes dead and allows you to set your line.

I loved the up tempo game we played, the Roosters were like us of old, slow with couple of sparks, but we play the game so fast.

That will be key vs Melbourne our up tempo game them trying to slow it down

Whatever else happens this season, it is a significant achievement and one worthy of celebration.

For another stat, we play the bunnies in a few weeks time, and if we beat them we will have defeated every other NRL team at least once during a regular season. Anyone know when the last time that was done?

Think it's been done by other sides plenty of times.
By us maybe 1978.
Not sure about 1999.
I've got a scrapbook from 1978 with all the Cronulla teams and results so I'll dig that out sometime this week.

Found the old scrapbook. Its actually 1979 not 1978 but I'm guessing we may of achieved it in 1978.
In 1979 we beat every side at least once but Penrith.

I had in my head that the Cowboys won 15 straight last year before we knocked them off but that's obviously not right.

How many in a row did they win?

It's good for the clubs overall win percentage rate after the last few coaches destroyed it.

Oh how I remember 1988. First minor premiership for the Sharks. Beer Hill an orgasm-a-thon, team does a lap of honour, the shrill celebratory tones of Up, Up Cronulla echoing large around ground.

10 wins in a row that year. A new record at the time and the team were dead set certs to win their maiden premiership.

Bang, bang out ya go, thanks for coming.

Fekk these feel good records. Just win the GF then put the icing on the cake

I was talking to Gav Miller about this recently and he said that the decision to do a lap of honour was a mistake as they felt like the job was already done.

While I agree with what you are saying in part; milestones, records and achievements should be celebrated and noted. If we didn't celebrate these things there would be little to smile about as a supporter of any club, let alone ours.

Yep - it was 100% necessary to put out the Memorabilia over beating a NSW cup grade Knights side.

But i get you - in this day and age of member inclusion/soft touch, we must always ram home every little win.

He did.
Can't remember what he did an ankle or shoulder or something but missed some
games near the end of the year.
Was always running off Gavin Miller.
We didn't beat every team that year either as I remember we went to Newcastle and had a draw up there. We only played them once.
Was that the year we came from behind to beat St George to get the minor premiership or was that 99.
Was that the year Brisbane and Newcastle joined?
Too long ago.
Just win the bloody thing.
