Same way Cronk was manufactured? DCE had Foran on his inside and an amazing pack. Yet now at 27 DCE is behind Hunt as a halfback. Early success doesn't equal a career I would say most halves peak between 28-29, Hunt has plenty of growth still. Hasting is a massive unknown, as someone else mentioned he may have a equal ceiling but probably a much lower basement
Cronk wasn't manufactured. He still has great vision - Instincts- the will to win- attitude-tackling and running game along with gane management. He is quite mechanical and perfect.Patient and cool under pressure.

People seem to confuse this with manufactured.Sure he doesnt have the spark of a thurston but he is one of the nost effective halfbacks ive seen!
If it was so easy everyone would manufacture a Cronk.

Top 25 minimum salary is $82500. I'd say De Gois is on more than that, but surely not too much more. After all, he offers no threat in attack and only plays about 50 minutes. He's obviously not a key player in our structure, even if he's our starting dummy half.
I reckon 82500 would be an insult.
An even 100k would be fine. And id be happy with that.Even if we could of snatched him for 82500 ....You dont belittle a giy like de gois like that

Yeah, I don't think he's on much more but he's got to be top 25 if 82.5k is minimum. Second year he might not be but if he isn't it's only just. Which is enough.

Agreed. Maybe he's on something like 100-120k first year, 82.4k second year. Depends what the NRL let's you get away with.

And maybe depends on whether we sign anyone else for 2017 late (like Jennings was a late signing for 2016), and whether we can then use any leftover cap space to shift parts of some players' 2018 salaries forward.

And Hunt is manufactured by your def? he has everything you just said cronk has. Actually he is the kind of player I would compare him too. A player with a wide range of skills he has taken to his potential because of his hard work rather than natural ability. No real holes in his game but also the luxury of playing in a well organised team.

I think they both lack natural vision and flair, but Cronk is technically perfect, and physically (speed+strength) as close to it as a halfback can get. Hunt is also fast and strong for a half but technically only average.

I dont buy into these great humans going to help african kids for 8 days before returning to western society to tell their story... More of a feel good story about themeself.

While there is often (almost always) some 'personal marketing' involved, the fact is that that celebrities going on such trips helps to promote the charity/cause that they are assisting. Relative to someone who sits on their arse and does nothing to help those less fortunate than themselves....I'm not going to knock him.

Don't know where the Lichaa love is coming from but he's been absolutely hopeless for the dogs for a few years now. He's passing and running out of dummy half is slow. He makes Matt Keating look like bloody Steve Walters.

Assuming IDG is on about $100k, which players do you think would be on a lower amount in our top 25?
Off the top of my head I'd suggest perhaps The Fog, O'Brien, Folau, and Gennings.

He has everything Cronk has bar the long kicking game, defence and coolness under pressure. But otherwise it's pretty close....... Even the price tag

Cronk is clinical
hunt is solid
Both good players, But you cant not just get any guy and turn him into either. Its just their game plan.

Once they're on as little as about $100k I don't think it really matters who is on $90k or who is on $110k. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs had blanket policies about how much to pay a player at the bottom of the top 25 (e.g. players 20-25 all get $90k). With the second tier cap at $440k you could have every second tier player on $88k and still use five of them in a season.
