Once they're on as little as about $100k I don't think it really matters who is on $90k or who is on $110k. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs had blanket policies about how much to pay a player at the bottom of the top 25 (e.g. players 20-25 all get $90k). With the second tier cap at $440k you could have every second tier player on $88k and still use five of them in a season.

It matters if you sign someone into the top 25 because the lowest paid player that was in it previously drops out. That's the point I was making.

The point I was making is that you can prepare for that possibility by paying the bottom five (or however many) the same amount. I really think the top 25 isn't decided until the end of pre-season anyway, when those players the coach wants in the top 25 are upgraded from $80k (for example) to $85k (for example). Assuming these figures, if a player was signed to $100k+ then he was always supposed to be in the top 25 anyway.

The category 1 seat membership (which I have) has a nice looking seat allocation at ANZ, much better than last year from what I can tell.

yeah i have cat1 as well. i looked at the general seating area for that category but couldn't find my actual seats which the email said you could.
